FORECAST-WXWALL

WX RUNDOWN:

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Better rain chances on Monday

Spotty showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue bubbling up along the US 41 and I-75 corridors this evening. Though the activity will remain fairly low in coverage, be aware that with these passing showers, they could provide a good dose of rain before weakening.

We'll have more moisture available in the atmosphere on Monday, and that should allow for a more widespread coverage of rain and thunder. Though the morning hours should remain quiet, past noon we'll be expecting to see some showers or storms begin to pop up, especially for areas along I-75 and eastward.

Temperatures look a little cooler on Monday, only topping out at 93 degrees in the afternoon. Though that is still warm, it is several degrees cooler than where communities topped out this past weekend.

A decent coverage of scattered showers and storms is expected on Tuesday with highs around 91 degrees. Return to index of stories...

APOLLO 45TH ANNIVERSARY-PKG

"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

With those words a nation watched man walk on the moon. People throughout the U.S. stopped where they were and gathered to see this historic moment around televisions. In Cleveland, at Higbees, crowds gathered to follow the mission that put man on the moon.

"I'm very glad they did it, and I'm very glad we got there first."

In 2008, Neil Armstrong was in Cleveland for NASA's 50th anniversary and talked about that day.

"We had a few people that thought it was going to be very difficult to walk on the surface. But the human is remarkably adaptive and what we found out was that by the time we had just stood around in the cockpit for a couple hours we were completely adapted and when we walked down off of the craft on to the surface, we already were right at home. And, you'd really like it!" Return to index of stories...
