FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

If you've been in Lee County today, it's been quite the soggy and stormy start to our Monday thanks to a train of tropical downpours that moved in from the Gulf of Mexico.

For those of us across Charlotte and Collier County, it's a different story; we've seen plenty of sunshine along with temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

Now that the rain has faded across Lee County, most of us will be in store for a mainly dry and sunny afternoon. A few stray downpours will be possible, but these should be few and far between.

The evening hours and overnight should be pretty quiet with only a couple spots of rain drifting in from the Gulf.

By Tuesday morning, we'll keep the door open for another round of isolated morning showers or even a thunderstorm, and a few of these downpours may linger into the afternoon on Tuesday.

Aside from a few passing downpours, expect a mix of sunshine and clouds with temperatures warming into the low to mid 90s.

We'll another uptick in rain chances by Wednesday as more moisture builds in from the north, and with our winds coming in from the Gulf, rain will be possible during the morning hours as well.

We continue with scattered rain and storms in our forecast from Thursday into the weekend, but the weekend activity likely won't affect us until the afternoon and evening.

TROPICAL UPDATE

We're tracking a tropical wave in the central Atlantic that's been becoming better organized over the last couple of days.

It's a good possibility that this feature will develop into a tropical depression or perhaps a tropical storm by the middle of the week.

The track through the end of the week will be west, taking this feature toward the Windward Islands by the weekend.

Most forecast models suggest this storm eventually recurve to the north by next week, but it's still too soon to know for sure. We'll continue tracking this tropical wave throughout the week in the NBC 2 First Alert Hurricane Tracker Center. Return to index of stories...

LIFE'S TRANSITIONS,

Chico is a very fun smart intuitive calm and loving

Precious!

NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE.

Very personable too.

CHICO'S BEEN TRAINED,

I just tell him to brace and put a hand and push up.

Joe Kashknow I'm from Baltimore maryland.

JOE'S LIFE CHANGED IN IRAQ.

So I remember we were driving down the road in a convoy I was the

JOE IS NOW AN AMPUTEE -

CHICO WILL HELP WITH BALANCE.

Behind behind, wait.

HE TRAINED FOR COUNTLESS HOURS AT "PAWS ASSISTANCE DOGS."

This is actually training for him.

CHICO KNOWS TO COMFORT JOE DURING SUDDEN LEG PAIN.

I can't do what the veterans have done, but I can do this to help them.

TRAINING COMES NATURALLY.

and this is the 4th one for me, and you think they get easy and they

don't

LAUGHTER'S A SOUND CHICO WILL SOON HEAR A LOT.

Joe's actually a comedian.

WAR TOOK JOE'S LEG,

He is very funny

BUT NOT HIS SENSE OF HUMOR.

JOE WAS FEATURED IN THE DOCUMENTARY "COMEDY WARRIORS: HEALING THROUGH HUMOR."

I lost 25 pounds when I had my leg off. Two and a half weeks ago I lost

another four and a half ounces when I had my gall bladder taken out.

JOE WAS THERE WHEN IT PLAYED AT THE NAPLES FILM FESTIVAL LAST NOVEMBER.

You're going home Chico.

HOME WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMEWHERE ELSE,

You're going to like that plane.

HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR A CONVERSATION BRENDA MELTON HAD WITH JOE AFTER THE FILM.

That's the relationship and that's how Joe got his dog.

SHE INTRODUCED JOE TO CHICO AT THIS YEAR'S CELEBRITY MARTINI GLASS AUCTION.

It was obvious to me the first time Chico met Joe there was this

instant connection.

THAT NIGHT THEY RAISED 300-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR MORE MISSIONS LIKE THIS.

it really takes a village.

I want to let you guys know we have a special guest on board today.

it's a four legged guest. Chico over here.

Go do your job.

HOURS LATER IN BALTIMORE,

Hi there!

JOE GETS WHAT HE'S WANTED FOR FIVE YEARS.

I think he remembers.

People who don't know me, don't know Chico and have just donated money

to support an organization they believe in.

FUNNY HOW LIFE WORKS.

I think is an example of the graciousness of the human spirit.
