ZAC'S MEMORY IS FUZZY.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

TRACKING DRIER AIR AHEAD

It was a fairly quiet Wednesday across Southwest Florida, with scattered showers and storms mainly east of I-75. We'll see the storms diminish inland this evening, with temps falling into the 80s. We'll see quiet conditions overnight, with lows in the upper 70s.

The onshore flow now looks to continue Thursday. However, the likelihood of AM showers is very low. The better chance for rain will be in the PM hours, especially along and east of I-75. Highs on Thursday will be in the low 90s.

Drier air does start entering the area on Friday. This will reduce the chance of PM scattered storms, but not completely end the threat. Highs on Friday will be in the low 90s.

Even more dry air works in for the weekend. Right now, Saturday looks slightly wetter than Sunday but the majority of both weekend days are expected to be dry. The best chance for storms each day will be in the afternoon and early evening hours. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s.

Next week looks fairly quiet as the dry air remains in place. Just a few widely scattered storms are expected each afternoon, with highs in the low to mid 90s.

TROPICAL UPDATE

Tropical Storm Bertha became post-tropical Wednesday morning, ending it's run as the second named storm in the Atlantic basin.

Bertha is east of New England and is moving rapidly to the northeast at 31 mph. It will stay in the open waters of the Atlantic over the next few days.

Elsewhere in the tropics, no major activity is expected over the next 5 days. Return to index of stories...

Adam Rosales homered twice in a game for the first time in his career and Nick Tepesch pitched scoreless ball into the sixth inning, leading the Texas Rangers over Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox 3-1 Wednesday.

The Rangers, who began the day with baseball's worst record, have won consecutive games for the first time since June 27-28. They routed the White Sox 16-0 on Tuesday night.

Rosales hit a two-run shot in the second and added a solo shot in the seventh. He entered the game with only one homer this season.

White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton exited in the second after running into the right-center field fence trying to catch Rosales' homer. The team said Eaton bruised his lower back.

Tepesch gave up six hits in 5 2-3 innings. He had lost four straight decisions, and skipped a turn because of a sore left knee.
