5:00 WEATHER LEAD-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Early this morning, a couple of downpours have already developed and worked their way to our coastline from the Gulf of Mexico. Through the morning to midday time frame, we'll see some scattered downpours washing ashore and fading once they come ashore. This is happening as the onshore wind flow continues to dominate our weather pattern. By this afternoon, there will still be a few storms, but they will be mainly inland. Even as most of the activity heads inland this afternoon, a stray shower can still wash ashore at any time.

For Friday and into the weekend, rain chances will be limited. With winds staying onshore, we will still be in the pattern of the chance for a morning shower to come in from the Gulf of Mexico and the isolated afternoon activity will be aimed toward the inland areas.

Highs today and through the next few days will be near 90 degrees at the coastline to the mid 90s in the inland areas. Lows will stay in the mid and upper 70s.

Tropical Update

Other than a couple tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic, the tropics continue to stay quiet. Tropical activity is not expected for the next few days, but we're getting close to the time of year when we normally see an increase in tropical development. Keep monitoring nbc-2.com for future updates on the tropics. Return to index of stories...

5:30 WEATHER LEAD-WX WALL
