"It's kind of close to home, so yeah, its kind of concerning."

EXCLUSIVE IMAGES —

SHOWING THE MOMENT CAPE CORAL POLICE ARRESTED 71-YEAR-OLD WAYNE MILLER — FOR DRIVING DRUNK.

MOMENTS EARLIER — WITNESSES SAY MILLER WAS DRIVING AGGRESSIVELY DOWN CHIQUITA BOULEVARD — CURSING AT OTHER DRIVERS, EVEN RUNNING CARS RIGHT OFF THE ROAD.

SOT:

Tim Supko / Cape Coral

48:10 - 16

"It's just amazing that people just. they don't care anymore. They're too quick to jump off the handle."

THAT'S WHEN MILLER LOST CONTROL OF HIS DODGE PICK-UP — BEFORE SLAMMING INTO THIS CONCRETE LIGHT POLE.

BUT ACCORDING TO OFFICERS — THE DRAMA DID *NOT* END THERE.

HE THEN STARTED FIGHTING WITH WITNESSES — WHO CAME BY TO HELP.

ONE PERSON SAYS MILLER EVEN CHARGED AT FIREFIGHTERS — FORCING OFFICERS TO RESTRAIN HIM ON THE GROUND.

SOT:

Tim Supko / Cape Coral

48:18 - 23

The way they treat police officers today, its just so disrespectful.

WE STOPPED BY MILLER'S HOME TODAY —

— BUT NO ONE CAME TO THE DOOR.

OTHER DRIVERS ARE JUST GRATEFUL — NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT.

SOT:

Tim Supko / Cape Coral

NATS NBC Broadcaster: "Jackson edging ahead to win the pair, and guaranteeing a spot on the US Olympic 500 meter team."

A lifelong inline skating star - now shining on the ice.

Ocala native Erin Jackson has only been ice skating for 4 months.

Now -- she's headed to South Korea.

SOT Erin Jackson, Ocala Native/USA Olympic Speed Skater: "I really wasn't expecting it coming in. And I think I haven't really processed it yet. So it's just really crazy."

One person who's been there from the beginning is Renee Hildebrand.

She's coached Jackson since she was 7 years old.

And was in Milwaukee for the big moment.

SOT Renee Hildebrand, Erin's Coach: "It was amazing. Of course I didn't get to see her until after the race, but while she was still on the ice we looked at each other in disbelief that she had actually done it."

A result not even Jackson saw coming.

SOT Renee Hildebrand, Erin's Coach: " We had lunch at Panera a couple hours before that, and she had said her goal was to be top ten. I looked at her and said 'you get faster every time you get on the ice, let's move that up to at least top five.' And she was like yea I think I could do that."

Top five turned into top 3.

And now the World champion inline skater wonders if she can have the same success on the ice.

SOT Erin Jackson, Ocala Native/USA Olympic Speed Skater: Well I hope so. I put a lot of time into inline. So I guess I got to put a lot of time into this too now." Return to index of stories...

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-ON CAM

Clouds will be much more plentiful today, but we'll see enough sun to warm us up into the upper 70s.

Rain chances will be a touch higher today as moisture levels steadily increase across Southwest Florida, so it's possible to see a few spotty light showers this afternoon and evening.

Tuesday will be another fairly cloudy day with another opportunity for some areas of light rain, and a few showers may develop in the morning.

Overall, rain chances will be around 30% Tuesday, so lots of us will end up staying dry.

By mid week, cloud cover thins out a bit, making way for sunnier and increasingly warmer weather.

Afternoon highs rebound into the lower 80s Wednesday and Thursday, which will make the first day we've been in the 80s in almost two weeks!

Just as temperatures start to warm up, another cold front is scheduled to arrive in Southwest Florida Friday night into Saturday morning.

This cold front will be strong but not quite as strong as the last one.

We'll even see the potential for a little scattered rain from Friday evening into Saturday morning, which may change depending on the timing of the front.

There's a good chance our highs this weekend will only warm into the 60s with overnight lows possibly getting as low as the upper 40s and lower 50s, so get ready for another bout of chilly weather this weekend.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

Elana Meyers Taylor: The most incredible thing to me is to be able to put all your efforts into that one goal every four years. To have that opportunity, it's one you cherish because it's so rare.

Chris Mazdzer: To get to the Olympics, it's not every four years, it's every day.

Susan Dunklee: It's really about committing and being able to compete with honor and being a part of something bigger than yourself. You have to be able to deal with pressure, and you have to have a little bit of luck.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL
