"Rain a good bet Monday"
Showers will redevelop over Southwest Florida today, and this time it looks as though our best rain chance will come in the morning and early afternoon. T he best rain chances later in the day will be over the interior, but an afternoon shower still can't be ruled out for the rest of us with so much moisture in place.
We'll notice more clouds than normal for a July day in Southwest Florida, but sunshine will still mix in with the clouds at times through the day. The clouds and rain will at least help keep temperatures at bay. Our daytime high temperatures will range from the mid to upper 80s, but locations that see lots of rain could only warm into the low to mid 80s.
An onshore flow will remain in place Tuesday, which often means locations closer to the beaches and the urban corridor see the best rain chances earlier in the day while locations deeper inland stand the best chance of getting hit by a storm during the afternoon and evening. We also expect more sun Tuesday, so look for highs in the low 90s.
Rain chances will be diminished somewhat by mid week as a ridge of high pressure build over Southwest Florida. Another result of this ridge will be higher temperatures, and we very well could see a heat index between 100-105 by Thursday and Friday.
By the upcoming weekend, temperatures won't be quite as oppressive, and we'll see a return of our typical afternoon thunderstorm pattern.

President Obama is not letting up.
Campaigning in Cincinnati today, the President will label Mitt Romney as a
job destroyer.
According to the campaign, Mr. Obama will hit Romney for his corporate tax
proposals, claiming they'll help create hundreds of thousands of jobs
overseas.
It's the latest in a series of attacks which have changed the subject from
the President's handling of the lackluster economy to questions about Romney
's time at Bain Capital.
SOT Obama
"I DON'T WANT A PIONEER IN OUTSOURCING. I WANT SOME INSOURCING."
That's one of the President's main attacks - that Romney's investment firm,
Bain Capital, outsourced jobs.
Romney says the outsourcing happened after he left in 1999. But SEC
documents list him as chairman and CEO for three years after that.
The Obama campaign argues that either Romney was involved or he committed a
felony by inaccurately reflecting his role in the company.
Romney, claiming the attacks are false, is demanding an apology.
SOT Romney
"He sure as heck oughta say he's sorry for the kinds of attacks that are
coming from his team."
The President told WAVY-TV that Romney should not hold his breath.
SOT OBAMA
"NO WE WON'T BE APOLOGIZING."
Republicans say the charge is simply a distraction.
SOT KARL ROVE
"THE PRESIDENT IS UNTRUE, UNFAIR, MISLEADING. AND WHY IS HE DOING THIS?
BECAUSE HIS POLICIES HAVE FAILED US ON GETTING THE ECONOMY GOING AND
BRINGING DOWN UNEMPLOYMENT."
MITT ROMNEY'S TAX RETURNS HAVE ALSO BECOME AN ISSUE WITH THE OBAMA TEAM AND
EVEN SOME REPUBLICANS SAYING HE SHOULD RELEASE MORE THAN HE HAS.
