After a wet start to the week, our weather pattern is drying out and heating up.
The upper level low that brought us the soggy rains continues to weaken across the southeast states today with the rain focused across central and north Florida. Skies will start off mostly clear with most locations in the middle and upper 70s.
The tropical airmass that has been entrenched across the area will be replaced by dry high pressure building in from the Atlantic along with Saharan dust. This will bring hot, hazy, and humid conditions to Southwest Florida for Thursday and Friday, while keeping rain chances to a minimum. With the seabreeze making its way in this afternoon, a stray afternoon/evening shower is possible otherwise the vast majority of the area will stay dry. Temperatures will soar into the mid 90s with heat index values in the 101°-105° range.
Moisture will return for the weekend, bringing our typical rainy season pattern back with dry mornings and afternoon storms.
