THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Another hot and humid day with only isolated showers is on the way tomorrow. Winds will continue to blow lightly off the Gulf of Mexico and that will keep the high humidity in place for the rest of the week. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 70's again tonight and top out in the lower 90's on Thursday. Each day this week we have been tracking the afternoon downpours and isolated storms, but the wind off the Gulf has triggered the rain activity inland and left most of our coastal areas dry. That's the story again tomorrow…not much rain along the coast and a better chance for showers and storms east of I-75.
In the tropics I am watching two areas of unsettled weather. The first is a tropical wave near Haiti and the second is a tropical wave east of Barbados. The first wave will continue to move west and help push more moisture toward southwest Florida. It looks like we are on track to see more showers and storms by the weekend as this system moves by. The second tropical wave in the Atlantic is looking good to develop into a Tropical Depression and, possibly, a Tropical Storm over the weekend. This is a long way from us and the computer guidance doesn't bring it anywhere close to Florida for several more days. If this system does develop it will be called "Ernesto". But to repeat - this is NOT a concern for us right now and it will be next week when we start to pay closer attention to its track.

IF YOU'VE EVER THOUGHT OF HAVING A CHEMICAL PEEL, BUT DIDN'T WANT MISS TIME FROM WORK DURING THE HEALING PROCESS. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ANYMORE.
A CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST HAS DEVELOPED A LINE OF MAKEUP THAT WILL LITERALLY COVER EVERYTHING UP.
ROD CARTER SHOWS US.
Return to index of stories...
AT ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY AND COSMETIC SURGERY, CHEMICAL PEELS ARE PRETTY MUCH AN EVERYDAY THING.
THIS CENTER WORKER SHOWED US JUST HOW FAST A PROCEDURE IT IS. IT'S A TECHNIQUE USED TO IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF THE SKIN.
IN the TREATMENT, A CHEMICAL SOLUTION IS APPLIED TO THE SKIN, WHICH CAUSES IT TO "BLISTER" AND EVENTUALLY PEEL OFF.
THE NEW, REGENERATED SKIN IS USUALLY SMOOTHER AND LESS WRINKLED.
THE NEW SKIN ALSO IS TEMPORARILY MORE SENSITIVE TO THE SUN AND RED. THAT'S WHY SO MANY WOMEN WHO HAVE IT DONE, OPT TO DO IT WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE.
"It's the first makeup that is breathable."
THAT'S WHERE CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST BARRY KNAPP COMES IN. HE'S THE MAKEUP ARTISTS FOR MANY STARS, INCLUDING PAULA ABDUL.
"You can now have a laser procedure, a chemical peel as we've shown and leave the office without a sign of the procedure."
HE DEVELOPED A MAKEUP LINE CALLED OXYGENETICS. THE MAKEUP HAS A THREE FOLD PURPOSE.
"A cooling effect because it's aloe based. a faster healing effect. and you're gonna get full camoflauge."
OXYGENETICS HAS BEEN AROUND FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND IS USED ON A QUITE A NUMBER OF STARS.
IN FACT, KNAPP TELLS ME. THE ENTIRE MTV NETWORK USES HIS PRODUCT.
YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE HERE ON CRYSTAL ONE SIDE WITH THE MAKEUP AND ONE SIDE WITHOUT IT.
"It's literally like having second skin."

Return to index of stories...

IN DAYTONA BEACH, TWO VIOLENT STRANGERS TARGETED AN INNOCENT PARKING GARAGE
ATTENDANT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, IN THE HEART OF A RETAIL DISTRICT.
ONE MAN HAD A KNIFE, REACHED INTO HER BOOTH AND PUT THE BLADE TO
HER NECK. THE ORDEAL TERRIFIED THE VICTIM, REGINA BLAND, WHO CALLED 9-1-1
SHORTLY AFTER.
2:50-3:00
Victim: "I'm the one that they stabbed up a couple of times and cut me
across my wrist."
Dispatcher: "Alright, where were you stabbed?"
Victim: "Across my chest. He had the knife across my chest, all in my throat
."
THE ENTIRE ROBBERY AT THE OCEAN WALK GARAGE NEAR A1A LASTED LESS THAN A
MINUTE. BLAND TOLD POLICE SHE DIDN'T THINK MUCH ABOUT THE TWO MEN WHEN SHE
SAW THEM AT FIRST. SHE WAS TAKEN BY SURPRISE.
11:59:22-28
"The economy is tough. This lady is working. She's obviously working the
midnight shift. She's trying to do the best she can to mind her own business
."
AS BLAND STRUGGLED WITH THE SUSPECT WEARING A BASBALL CAP AND GLASSES, THE
OTHER MAN TRIED TO COME INSIDE TO STEAL MONEY. HE WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, AND BOTH
MEN ESCAPED ONLY WITH BLAND'S HAIR. THE VICTIM WAS ABLE TO DESCRIBE THEM
TO 9-1-1.
1:52-2:00
Victim: "It was two black males. One had a um, uh uh uh a black uh sweater
on. I think
Dispatcher: "Alright, what? Listen, listen."
BOTH MEN ARE BELIEVED TO BE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 AND 25 YEARS OLD.
POLICE SAY THEY ARE CONCERNED AND THEY'RE ASKING RESIDENTS AND TOURISTS TO
STAY ALERT.
11:59:32-39
"It was just a violent encounter, they had her in a headlock. She received
some abrasions, her shirt was cut; so yeah, we're concerned."
