STORMS FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY
The tropics are definitely heating up. We're watching three systems right now.
First, one very close to home. An area of low pressure just off the east coast of Florida. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 10% chance of developing further. So, the chances are slim to none. This area will shift to the northwest overnight and provide us with a lot of moisture for afternoon storms along the sea breeze Sunday and Monday.
Some of these could get strong to severe. I have a heads up!
Lows will be in the upper 70s, and they'll be very uncomfortable with humidity rising. Highs will stay in the lower to mid 90s.
Next, Tropical Storm Ernesto continues to churn in the Caribbean. It has slowed slightly, but it still on a westard track toward the Yucatan. We expect it to hit the Yucatan by Wednesday as a Category 1 hurricane. It will have NO impact on southwest Florida.
Lastly, Tropical Storm Florence is billowed up in the just off the coast of Africa. It's encountering cooler sea surface temperatures and a lot of wind shear. That'll work against the storm, and we expect to not strengthen much. The good news this storm will stay in the open waters and not effect any land areas.
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
