Mariss pagano
1310 "Steve: would your husband pull a pistol and point at the two? Never in a million years. It wouldn't happen."
Mariss Pagano fires back tonight -- telling only us her husband Robert Pagano isn't a violent man.
Pagano 1431 "he's warm, compassion, caring, and would do anything for anybody."
While the wife counters the arrest is a big misunderstanding, cape coral police officers claim Pagano admitted to pulling the revolver to quote "scare the workers."
According to his arrest report, the century link workers needed to repair a phone line and knocked on Pagano's door as a common courtesy.
Brian Hamman, Century Link
0955 "this is a scary situation. We're extremely grateful our guys are okay and safe."
Brian hamman explains current safety measures include driving marked vehicles and wearing uniformed clothes.
He tells us -- given yesterday morning's run in they're reinterating the rules.
Cape police officers argue the workers -- did nothing wrong and people like Pagano need to excerise common sense in their community.
Lt. Tony Sizemore, CCPD
0601 "just the mere fact that someone is knocking on your door is not a threat."
Some neighbors contend Pagano sleeps during the day -- and might have felt threatened.
Karen Marzullo, neighbor
4625 "now it seems like everybody is getting that way. they don't want to open the door because they don't know who is going to be on the other side."
And as this wife waits for husband to come home from jail, she doesn't believe rage played a factor.
Pagano 1353 "I've never seen him raise a pistol. He might have been startled."

Tonight, the weather will be much different from last night as we track only a few showers across southwest Florida. It will certainly be mild and muggy tonight, but the outlook for big downpours is low. In fact, a check of the charts today is showing that we will have another quiet day tomorrow. Morning low temperatures on Wednesday will start out in the upper 70's and our afternoon high temperatures will reach the mid 90's. Humidity and heat will make tomorrow another very hot day. Rain showers and storms will be few and far between on Wednesday as we track a little dry air moving above Florida. I think there will be only one or two areas of rain to track tomorrow … if we are lucky.
Looking ahead, the moisture will return to southwest Florida by the end of the week and there will be more storms to track this weekend. Forecast computer guidance is telling me that our chance for those pesky afternoon storms goes back to 50% - 60% on Saturday and Sunday….plan accordingly!
In the tropics, no storms are pointing at Florida. Ernesto is now a Hurricane and should make landfall on the west side of the Yucatan Peninsula tonight.
