RAINY WEEKEND IS EXPECTED
First Alert Live Doppler Radar will get a good work out Saturday and Sunday. Deep tropical moisture is going to engulf southwest Florida, and that is going to spike our rain chances.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with scattered storms. You'll be able to go outside periodically through the day, so don't worry!
Sunday has a different outlook. It's the gloomiest day, so to speak. It will be mostly cloudy with periods of heavy downpours and storms.
Rain chances take a precipitous drop Monday through mid week. What storm cells pop up will be very isolated in nature.
Highs will cool off slightly, too. There will not be anymore 95+ degree heat for several days. Lower 90s will be more of the rule, however, when one adds the humidity… It'll still feel muggy and uncomfortable.
For you beach and boat goers expect winds from the east-southeast at 5-10 knots, seas 1-2 feet, and a light chop for the inland waterways.
As for the tropics, they are beginning to show more activity.
Remnants of Florence are fading away, Ernesto is weakening, too.
There's an area of organized clouds that we are watching between the Lesser Antilles and the Cape Verde Islands. It will develop into our next Tropical Depression tonight. The environment ahead of it is conducive for further development as it pushes west.
The last area of interest is a low pressure system approaching the coast of Africa.

A mother murdered in her home while her family is asleep inside.
The collier county sheriffs office say 44 year old concetta bedell was likely shot to death-- her body found on her back porch early wed morning.
Investigators combed the crime scene for evidence--
But Court documents could be their first clue to cracking the case.
In july of 2011 Bedell had filed a domestic violence restraining order against her ex boyfriend, 44 year old terrance macdonnald.
Documents show the two broke up in may after macdonald
Ss:
reportedly shot three bullet holes into bedells bedroom wall and punched and kicked holes in the wall--
Ss:
Threatening bedell saying the holes in the wall should quote "be your head"
Ss:
He also allegedly pointed a rifle at her and kicked her in the face.
Ss:
The mother of two didn't report the incident to police out of fear for her safety and her sons safety.
She refused to press charges against macdonald again when he allegedly broke into her naples home in august of last year. Her ex reportedly
Ss:
"Had a loaded gun, a roll of duct tape and a blanket in the car."
When deputies arrived macdonald said "homicide is not pretty but when you do it, it feels pretty good."
Macdonald is now a person of interest in this case-- investigators haven't been able to track him down.
Macdonald isn't a suspect only person of interest. We stopped by his home neigghbors say they haven't seen him since tues afternoon. We reached out to macdonalds father who he lives with-- had no comment. Any info call ccso.

A PEDIATRICIAN -- WHO IS ALSO AN EXPERT IN NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES -- IS NOW ACCUSED OF NEARLY KILLING HIS OWN DAUGHTER.
STACEY KOHAN REPORTS ON THE MAN CHARGED WITH WATERBOARDING HIS 11-YEAR-OLD.
Return to index of stories...
PEDIATRICIAN MELVIN MORSE IS AN EXPERT ON THE EFFECTS OF NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES IN CHILDREN. HE'S WRITTEN BOOKS ON THE SUBJECT AND EVEN APPEARED ON LARRY KING LIVE.
I have interviewed well over 100 children who have had a lack of oxygen to the brain, who were treated with all kinds of medicines, and who also are mechanically-ventilated with scary intensive care units, but were not near death.
NOW, HIS 11-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER TELLS AUTHORITIES DR. MORSE USED A TECHNIQUE ON HER THAT SIMULATES DROWNING. ALLEGEDLY HOLDING HER FACE UNDER A RUNNING FAUCET AS WATER SHOT UP HER NOSE. SHE CLAIMS SHE WAS BEING PUNISHED BUT DID NOT KNOW WHY AND THAT IT HAPPENED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES OVER TWO YEARS. SHE TOLD POLICE HER MOTHER, PAULINE MORSE, WITNESSED SOME OF THE INCIDENTS BUT DID NOT INTERVENE.
NOW, BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE ARE UNDER ARREST IN DELAWARE, CHARGED WITH RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, CONSPIRACY AND ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD.
AUTHORITIES WERE FIRST CALLED TO THE HOME IN JULY, WHEN MORSE WAS ACCUSED OF GRABBING HIS 11-YEAR-OLD BY THE ANKLE, DRAGGING HER ACROSS A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY, AND SPANKING HER.
THE DOCTOR WAS CHARGED WITH THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT IN THAT CASE. BUT HE HAS NOT BEEN CONVICTED YET OF ANYTHING. THE ALLEGED MISTREATMENT IS A HOT TOPIC AMONG NEIGHBORS.
I do believe if there is a need to punish a child, then punish a child. But don't torture the child.
Going overboard dragging the kid and trying to drown a kid, that's too far. And, in my opinion, the guy should be locked up without bail.
AN ATTORNEY FOR DOCTOR MORSE HAS NOT RESPONDED TO A

As the airbus jet touched down in New Zealand just hours ago.it appears a
high-stakes rescue operation at the bottom of the world was a smashing

It was to save an American stranded with a medical emergency at the McMurdo
Research Station. In the dead of the Antarctic winter.
SOT GANYARD
It's dark, the sun never comes up and if it does, it's just for a couple of
mins 4250 the wind is howling the temp minus 40, 50 even 60 degrees
Fahrenheit so it is a truly dangerous place to land airplanes
Few details are being released about the researcher.only that the person,
an American, is in stable condition.

Renee Douceur suffered a stroke at the South Pole last August.and had to
wait six weeks to be evacuated
RENEE DOUCEUR
There is always a concern that the time is ticking away. how much more
damage may be going on particularly if your conditions are unknown.
Antarctica is the driest, highest and windiest place on earth.
The high temperature this week: just 9 degrees below zero.
It's so cold the rescue plane had to carry enough fuel to keep the engines
constantly running.
It's also dark nearly 24 hours a day giving rescuers just a small period of
time to land.
DOCTOR RONALD SHEMENSKI was part of a medical rescue from this same station
back in 2001.
SOT PHONER
You just didn't know what to expect the planes had never been flown in that
temperature/no one's ever tried to come in pitch black darkness and land
on the ice so it was the completely unknown situation
STANDUP WINICK
People that go to such remote places are forced to undergo rigorous medical
testing beforehand because rescues like this are so risky.
