RAINY WEEKEND IS EXPECTED
First Alert Live Doppler Radar will get a good work out Saturday and Sunday. Deep tropical moisture is going to engulf southwest Florida, and that is going to spike our rain chances.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with scattered storms. You'll be able to go outside periodically through the day, so don't worry!
Sunday has a different outlook. It's the gloomiest day, so to speak. It will be mostly cloudy with periods of heavy downpours and storms.
Rain chances take a precipitous drop Monday through mid week. What storm cells pop up will be very isolated in nature.
Highs will cool off slightly, too. There will not be anymore 95+ degree heat for several days. Lower 90s will be more of the rule, however, when one adds the humidity… It'll still feel muggy and uncomfortable.
For you beach and boat goers expect winds from the east-southeast at 5-10 knots, seas 1-2 feet, and a light chop for the inland waterways.
As for the tropics, they are beginning to show more activity.
Remnants of Florence are fading away, Ernesto is weakening, too.
There's an area of organized clouds that we are watching between the Lesser Antilles and the Cape Verde Islands. It will develop into our next Tropical Depression tonight. The environment ahead of it is conducive for further development as it pushes west.
The last area of interest is a low pressure system approaching the coast of Africa.
