SCATTERED STORMS THIS WEEK
The weather pattern marches forward with little change for southwest Florida. After looking at the newest computer models this afternoon, it seems like the forecast for tonight and tomorrow will feature the same story as the past few days. A few showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop through sunset with some areas getting a good downpour, gusty winds and lightning. The storms will generally fire up east of the interstate and then drift slowly back to the west after sunset. Mild temperatures and very humid weather continues tonight and through tomorrow morning with a low in the mid/upper 70's on Thursday. Tomorrow's weather will be hot and humid with scattered afternoon and evening downpours and storms.
In the tropics, we are close to seeing another tropical storm developing in the Atlantic. This storm will likely become "Gordon" and the future track keeps this well away from Florida. In fact, the models predict at this point that the storm would turn north even before reaching Bermuda. Elsewhere … no developing system appear to be pointing at Florida for the rest of the week and weekend.

deputies report finding all of that child pornography on a computer inside this house. detectives got a search warrant after getting information that someone here had been downloading the pornography. they seized several computers.
in the naples park neighborhood-
everything is quiet now.

a man living in this house on 107th avenue north-
is in jail and facing 100 felonies relating to child pornography.

but do say they seized 41 year-old kyles hughes's computer at his home,
reportedly finding 100 pictures and video of child pornography.

detectives noted that the victims are young girls under 12-
one of them even a toddler-
but all of them engaging in sex acts with grown men.

I'm standing in a residential neighborhood located off jacaranda parkway. This area is ranked one of worst in cape coral when it comes to flooding. Its dry today but looks quite different after a heavy rainstorm.
This is what neighborhood streets look like after consistent, heavy rain. The streets becomes flooded in a matter of minutes and can take days to dry out. Old, undersized pipes are mainly to blame. But today engineers unveiled a plan that could "wash away" those problems for good.
-bill edwards/avalon engineering-05:22:06-"this would alleviate those concerns being able to get to their residences, swales not being full with water for 3-4 days or streets being totally underwater."
City engineers identified 8 of the worst areas in the northwest cape. Since funding is limited staff is working on a minimum criteria that would have to be met for streets to get fixed first.

The weather pattern marches forward with little change for southwest Florida. After looking at the newest computer models this afternoon, it seems like the forecast for tonight and tomorrow will feature the same story as the past few days. A few showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop through sunset with some areas getting a good downpour, gusty winds and lightning. The storms will generally fire up east of the interstate and then drift slowly back to the west after sunset. Mild temperatures and very humid weather continues tonight and through tomorrow morning with a low in the mid/upper 70's on Thursday. Tomorrow's weather will be hot and humid with scattered afternoon and evening downpours and storms.
In the tropics, we are close to seeing another tropical storm developing in the Atlantic. This storm will likely become "Gordon" and the future track keeps this well away from Florida.
