BUT TAMPA'S MAYOR SAYS THE CITY IS PREPARED TO CALL IT OFF IF NECESSARY.

OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS THE ROMNEY-RYAN TICKET HAS BEEN TRYING TO DISTANCE ITSELF FROM THE THE TODD AKIN "LEGITIMATE RAPE" CONTROVERSEY.
THAT FORCED REPUBLICAN VICE PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL PAUL RYAN TO CLARIFY HIS/i POSITION ON ABORTION FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL:
/ Vice Presidential Candidate
"I'm proud of record. Mitt Romney is going to be the President; the President sets policy. His policy is exceptions for rape, incest, life of the mother. I'm comfortable with it because it's a good step in the right direction."
IN IOWA -ROMNEY TRIED TO KEEP THE FOCUS ON THE NATIONAL DEBT AND THE ECONOMY.
Presidential Candidate
"We've now had four years in a row with a President that's built trillion-dollar deficits. It's bad economics."
