The nation's eyes were on Mitt Romney.the businessman and former Governor
who made his case for leading America.
SOT ROMNEY
What America needs is jobs. Lots of jobs
The Republican Nominee promised.if elected.12 million jobs over the next
4 years.
And he expressed disappointment in the current Chief Executive.
SOT ROMNEY
You know there's something wrong with the kind of job he's done as president
when the best feeling you had was the day you voted for him.
Romney also spoke of his Mormon faith.
And he spoke emotionally about his parents and his mother's run for the U-S
Senate.
SOT ROMNEY
I can still hear her saying in her beautiful voice, "Why should women have
any less say than men, about the great decisions facing our nation?"
But his finale was combative.claiming President Obama has thrown U.S. ally
Israel "under the bus" and hadn't been tough enough with Russia.
SOT ROMNEY
Now is the moment when we can stand up and say: I'm an American. I make my
destiny. And we deserve better! My children deserve better! My family
deserves better! My country deserves better!
The GOP's "mystery speaker" turned out to be Clint Eastwood.
But the legendary actor and director might have had more awkward moments.
like pretending this empty chair was President Obama.
SOT EASTWOOD
I can't tell Mitt Romney to do that to himself.
as he did effective attacks on the White House.
SOT EASTWOOD
When somebody does not do the job, we got to let them go.
STANDUP WINICK
Romney and running mate Paul Ryan will both get new campaign planes this
morning.before taking off for the critical swing state of Virginia.where
they will hold a rally in Richmond.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
After a wet and windy start to the work week, our weather will be trending toward a drier than normal pattern.
It will be another warm and muggy start to the day, but our skies will be sunny with a few high thin cirrus clouds drifting overhead. Temperatures will be quick to warm as they climb from the upper 70s to the middle 90s during the afternoon.
High pressure will continue to flex its muscle across the Florida Peninsula, thus bringing a more stable atmosphere overhead. We'll see the chance for an isolated shower or storm during the peak heating of the day along the sea breeze as it begins to work its way inland, however many of us will stay hot and dry under partly sunny skies.
Tonight, skies remain mostly clear with lows settling into the middle to upper 70s.
Our hot and mainly dry weather pattern will hold through the holiday weekend with sunny starts and a few spotty showers during the afternoon, while temperatures range from the low to mid 90s.
In the tropics, the remnants of Isaac continue to bring the threat for heavy rainfall across the Mississippi River Valley. Hurricane Kirk and Tropical Storm Leslie will not be a threat to Southwest Florida as both tracks are set to recurve out to sea.

SCRIPT:
NAT Leave his pants on!!
The video, taken by fellow students on their cell phones of a 13 year old
boy being dragged around the room-even having
a sock stuffed in his mouth-- is so disturbing, it's hard to imagine a
fellow student didn't jump in to stop it.
NATS NO!! NO!!!
BUT WHAT REALLY OUTRAGES THE BOY'S PARENTS IS THAT A teacher was there too
and they say he joined in.
Karla Kinney/Mother when I drop my kids off I'm dropping them off as a
parent handing my kids to a school that is going to take care of them.
THE INCIDENT HAPPENED IN A MIDDLE SCHOOL near Tacoma Washington IN FEBRUARY.
. BUT IS JUST NOW coming to light following a district investigation.
At times In the video-which goes on for at least 15 minutes- it seems as if
the boy is playing along.
NATyea do that.do what Eric's doing not my arm
But a handful of students are also seen writing on his feet-even holding a
pillow over his face and covering him with chairs.
The teacher-18-year veteran John Rosi seemingly mugs for the phone cameras.
NATBy the way I'm feeling kind of gassy!
Karla Kinney/Mother He said he wanted to kill himself.the kids had blamed
him for this popular teacher and the suspension he received.
GRFX
Rossi, who told ABC News he's not allowed to comment-wrote in a letter to
investigators
"I can honestly say that at the time I did not believe that any of the
children were at risk of harm during their interactions. Nor did I view the
incident as anything more than harmless childhood horse play"
Memos from the Peninsula SCHOOL DISTRICT SAY--he avoided losing his job by
accepting a ten day suspension.
Chuck Cuzzetto/Superintendent:We took what we think is pretty significant
disciplinary action.

I wouldn't say it's a conservative push; I would say that it's a political push, and maybe that's just a difference in semantics. But it's a push that may ultimately threaten the judicial branch in this state and seems to be from people outside of the state.
