OFFICER ZOUEVA WROTE THE DRIVER A TICKET FOR NOT CHANGING HIS ADDRESS.
1:55 " when did you move?" " about 3 weeks ago." " you only have 10 days to change your address."
OFFICER ZOUEVA TOLD THE THOMPSONS THE TICKET WOULD ONLY BE TEN DOLLARS.
16:34 "it's a 10 dollar ticket because you didn't do it, but it's better than 200, right?"
WHEN THE THOMPSONS WENT TO PAY IT-
THEY LEARNED IT WAS OVER 100-DOLLARS AND THEY CALLED THE FORT MYERS POLICE DEPARTMENT, ANGRY.
19:00 "she misrepresented the price of the ticket- she was a smart alec to my husband."
THE DEPARTMENT LAUNCHED AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION-
AND FOUND THE OFFICER HAD VIOLATED RULES OF CONDUCT AND PROCEDURE.
IN THE END-
OFFICER ZOUEVA RECEIVED COUNSELING AND A POLICY REVIEW.
20:05 "i believe that they did a good job of handling it."

Frustrated and defeated -
Cape coral residents - like michael neves - vent to one another outside council chambers.
-michael neves/cape coral-"I don't expect a gas station at the entrance to my development."
But that's exactly what he's getting.
-patti martin/P&Z Chair-"this is a really tough case."
The cape coral planning and zoning commission voted 4 to 3 in favor of allowing a 711 convenience store and gas station to be built on the northwest corner of skyline blvd and cape coral parkway.
-dan creighton/ developer-"we prevailed thank goodness."
The special exception granted by the P&Z, allows for a 711 to be built on the.63-acre site. The 2,940 square foot convenience store includes a gas canopy with four pumps.
The developer claims the 711 will bring jobs and much-needed commercial development to the city.
-dan creighton/developer-"if a 711 or convenience store doesn't belong here it doesn't belong no where in the city."
But opponents are worried the 711 will increase traffic, noise and crime in the area.
-michael neves/cape coral-"not in my backyard yeah."
Former cape councilwoman and longtime resident - dolores bertolini supports commercial development but says the city should be more selective over who builds what, where.
-dolores bertolini/cape coral-"times are very bad but don't just go for any projects because times are bad."

Seems like we've had plenty of days this summer to talk about the influence of southwest winds on our side of Florida. The normal summer pattern starts with an easterly wind during the morning and the onshore winds in the afternoon. When we get southwest winds setting up for the full day that usually means showers in the morning, midday, and afternoon. For the next two days that will be the forecast….a chance for "on and off" showers at any daypart. High temperatures will continue to hit 90 degrees and overnight lows will be in the mid and upper 70's.
In the Atlantic we are still tracking Hurricane Leslie and Tropical Storm Michael. Neither storm is a threat to Florida.
In the Gulf of Mexico we have an interesting weather feature developing. The remnant low pressure area which was once Hurricane Isaac is moving back into the Gulf. Over the next few days we will have to watch this closely. If the system moves closer to Florida this weekend we could see a noticeable increase in rain by Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Early heads up …. There could certainly be more rain to track this weekend.
