MORE SUN, FEWER SHOWERS
Hopefully you were able to stay dry today, nearly all of us saw rain! As we progress through the week, the rain will be replaced with sun.
The movement of each storm cell was due east as it all glided along a frontal boundary to our north. That boundary is separating muggy air to the south, and dry, fall like weather to the north.
As the front sinks further it'll erode away. That's sad news for us because the nice weather over the southeast will not penetrate our area!
However, by southwest Florida standards the weather will be great.
Here is what's on the docket - lots of sunshine, less in the way of rain, and more in the way of beach time.
There will be a stray shower or two early in the morning, but 90% of the area will be dry. During the afternoon hours we'll see the sea breeze push through and our storms will be concentrated along it. Due to the winds now being from the northeast, the sea breeze will be pinned along the urban corridor. Make sure the windshield wipers are working for the drive home!
Wednesday into the weekend, you'll really see and feel the changes. Temperatures will rebound due to a lot of sunshine. They'll be in the mid 90s, and with humid air in place - it'll feel around 100 degrees! Isolated storms will be in the forecast each afternoon, but they'll be very widely spaced. Rain chances will be around 30% each day.
Boating conditions are improving, too, so it's time to start back hitting the water and catching some rays!
There's nothing in the tropics to be concerned about now, too.

AN UPDATE TONIGHT ON THE MOORE HAVEN TEEN WHO LOST HIS RIGHT ARM AFTER AN ALLIGATOR ATTACK.
FRED LANGDALE WAS SWIMMING IN THE CALOSAHATCHEE WHEN AN ELEVEN FOOT LONG ALLIGATOR RIPPED OFF HIS ARM BACK IN JULY.
AS ABC'S MATT GUTMAN TELLS US - LANGDALE IS BACK IN SCHOOL WITH A NEW PROSTETHETIC ARM.
Return to index of stories...
IT WAS A MOMENT OF HORROR,
NATS 911: my friend got arm bitten off
AND IMMEASURABLE HEROISM.
FRED LANGDALE'S / SURVIVED GATOR ATTACK: I told them to go back to the bank
and the gator to come after me
IN JULY, this 11 FOOT GATOR CLAMPED Fred or FRED 17-year-old FRED LANGDALE'S
ARM IN ITS IRON JAWS WHILE he and some friends were SWIMMING IN THIS CANAL
- FRED had to make a split second, life or death decision.
FRED LANGDALE / SURVIVED GATOR ATTACK: When he started to do the death roll
I was like ok here's my chance
HE THRASHED ASHORE - TO SAFTEY but leaving his right arm behind
SOT FROM FRIEND: He came up out of the water like dag on superman
FRED LANGDALE / SURVIVED GATOR ATTACK: it was a big old spider web so I
grabbed that I put it on my arm and put my arm between my leg to apply
pressure
HE DID IT SO WELL, HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED A BLOOD TRANSFUSION.
BUT MOST ASTONISHING when GMA caught up with him next days later in his
hospital room. HIS ATTITUDE.
FRED LANGDALE / SURVIVED GATOR ATTACK: I can care less about the arm
SOT: FELINDA LANGDALE/ MOTHER : police told me not to worry he was joking
and laughing
Almost CAVALIER ABOUT THAT ARM, this morning HE HAS A NEW ONE
FITTED LAST WEEK BY TECHNICIANS AT THE HANGAR CLINIC,WITH A PROSTHETHIC limb
that DETECTS MOVEMENT IN FRED'S FOREARM - ALLOWING HIM TO GRAB, GRIP, HOLD,
AND EVEN CLAMP ON SOMETHING AS FRAGILE - AS A CHEETO.
SOT Dan Strzempka Prosthetist, Hanger: wow, never seen anyone pick it up so
quickly in 27 years
TO TEST THAT NEW HAND THE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR VOLUNTEERED TO TAKE us OUT ON
HIS beloved AIRBOAT. HE'S LEARNED TO SET IT UP ONE HANDED WHICH IS ALSO HOW
HE DRIVES
AND THUNDERING OUT THERE ABOVE THE WATER - HE DRIVES WITH HIS FEET - AND
KEEPS HIS RIFLE NEARBY. Gators still a threat
BACK AT THE SITE OF THE ATTACK, FRED REFUSES TO BE SCARED.
MG: NO FEAR OF GATORS HUH
FRED: NAH
MG: so what will you be able to do with the new hand?
Fred: I can finally button my jeans by myself
MG: The simple things -

"I thought this is ridiculous there's too much crime and everything else. These lawyers need to be worrying about other things that are way more important than whether or not my granddaughter has a pink playhouse."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
CUT OUT
"If you're driving or walking down the street, you wouldn't even know that this pink playhouse existed. You have to peek around their home and into their backyard."

THE ASSOCIATION BOARD SAYS YOU HAVE TO HAVE PERMISSION BEFORE ADDING AN OUTBUILDING, BUT ROGERS-PECK DOESN'T CONSIDER THE PLAYHOUSE TO BE AN OUTBUILDING.
"I chose to say its play equipment no different than if I put a trampoline or swing set out here."

I STOPPED BY THE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT'S HOME. SHE SAID YOU CAN'T PUT SOMETHING IN YOUR YARD UNLESS IT'S APPROVED.
"Part of the approval is the color, HOA president Susan Bradley said. We didn't disapprove of the play house we disapproved of the color of it."
nats."why do you like it pink? because it's my favorite color, would you want your playhouse brown? No."
"Do you think the color pink is worth this whole legal mess? Obviously it is. Obviously I had neighbors that complained about it."
THE PRESIDENT SAYS THAT THE COLORS OF THE WALLS WERE DIFFERENT, THE HOUSE WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE. BUT, AUBREE'S GRANDMA SAID SHE'S NOT WILLING TO REPAINT.
"I'm going to fight it until the bitter end I will not paint that doll house. I'll move first."
