MORE SUN, FEWER SHOWERS
Hopefully you were able to stay dry today, nearly all of us saw rain! As we progress through the week, the rain will be replaced with sun.
The movement of each storm cell was due east as it all glided along a frontal boundary to our north. That boundary is separating muggy air to the south, and dry, fall like weather to the north.
As the front sinks further it'll erode away. That's sad news for us because the nice weather over the southeast will not penetrate our area!
However, by southwest Florida standards the weather will be great.
Here is what's on the docket - lots of sunshine, less in the way of rain, and more in the way of beach time.

.and additional $850,000.
-chris chulakes-leetz/cape councilman-"those funds should be returned to the residents."
But instead that influx of recycling cash will go into the general fund.
-kevin mcgrail/cape councilman-"I'm going to be voting to support this tonight.
Councilman kevin mcgrail says the city needs the $850-grand in order to pay for much needed capital improvements.
But residents can still expect to see a slight decrease in their solid waste bill.
Tonight council will consider reducing solid waste bills for next fiscal year from $161.35 to $157.25. That's a savings of just over $4-dollars.
-bocceri-"I'm glad to see it working sounds like this is working and that's a good thing. Any time prices go down that's a good thing."
Its not such "a good thing" for commercial business owners who are not longer having their solid waste rates subsidized by residents.
-mcgrail-"their rates are going to go from $20 per month which some of these small business people have very little trash to $60 per months.
Meaning while residents may see a slight savings, some small business owners may forced to relocate - and recycle - elsewhere.
-mcgrail-"believe me were going to get plenty of feedback from the small business."

However, by southwest Florida standards the weather will be great.
Here is what's on the docket - lots of sunshine, less in the way of rain, and more in the way of beach time.
There will be a stray shower or two early in the morning, but 90% of the area will be dry. During the afternoon hours we'll see the sea breeze push through and our storms will be concentrated along it. Due to the winds now being from the northeast, the sea breeze will be pinned along the urban corridor. Make sure the windshield wipers are working for the drive home!
Wednesday into the weekend, you'll really see and feel the changes. Temperatures will rebound due to a lot of sunshine. They'll be in the mid 90s, and with humid air in place - it'll feel around 100 degrees! Isolated storms will be in the forecast each afternoon, but they'll be very widely spaced. Rain chances will be around 30% each day.
Boating conditions are improving, too, so it's time to start back hitting the water and catching some rays!
There's nothing in the tropics to be concerned about now, too.

WHILE SHE WENT IN AND SHOPPED.
LEE TOLD OFFICERS, SHE DID NOT THINK SHE WOULD BE LONG THAT NIGHT.
Five minutes and your vehicle could be gone in two. And your children.
CAPTAIN JIM MULLIGAN WITH THE FORT MYERS POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS A CONCERNED CITIZEN CALLED FOR HELP AFTER NOTICING THE CHILDREN.
OFFICERS DISCOVERED LEE HAD BEEN INSIDE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES.
NATS
WHEN SHE CAME OUT OF THE STORE.
OFFICERS CHARGED HER WITH CHILD NEGLECT-
THREE COUNTS OF LEAVING A CHILD AGE SIX OR UNDER UNATTENDED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE FOR LONGER THAN 15 MINUTES.
What could it take a stranger to walk up, talk to the kids through the glass maybe ask them to open up the glass- open up the door or if they wanted it that bad, break the glass steal the vehicle with the children.
ACCORDING TO POLICE, THE CAR WAS RUNNING.
BUT IT DOESN'T SAY IF THE A/C WAS ON.
NATS
STILL, CHARLENE GARDNER, WHO'S A COORDINATOR WITH SAFE KIDS IN LEE AND COLLIER COUNTIES.
SAYS THERE ARE MORE DANGERS EVEN IF THE CAR IS RUNNING.
The child has access to the front seat being able to get out of their seat getting into the front seat putting the gear in place messing with all sorts of various things which can present a very big danger.
POLICE SAY THESE KINDS OF CASES ARE RARE.
AND WITH THIS ONE. THE CHILDREN WERE NOT INJURED.
