LESS CLOUDS, MORE SUN TOMORROW
Clouds hung tough today, and as a result our highs didn't get over 90. The clouds will not completely erode away tomorrow, but I can promise a little more sunshine for your day!
Remember that old cold front we talked about several days ago? It hasn't completely faded away. It's essentially meandering around south Florida, the Gulf, and part of the south central U.S. This boundary is the focus for our weather still today, and it's kept the moisture locked in place. Consequently, we've seen a lot of clouds and periods of rain.
Tomorrow will be a mix of sun and clouds. Could we wake up to a couple of coastal showers? Yes, overall the trend is dry in the morning. After lunch time, heavy downpours and storms will begin developing across the interior, and they'll shift west toward the urban corridor.
As for this weekend - even more sunshine will be available. Our winds are going to slack, and that will allow the sea breeze to begin. With winds coming from the northeast… The sea breeze will be held closer to the I-75.
Winds shift to the south to start the week. Simply put, this means to keep the umbrella at hand.
Temperatures will be right around our average this week! Lower 90s are in the forecast.
There's no concerns for southwest Florida in the tropics!

That's one small step for man.One giant leap for mankind.
Not quite 39 years old that July evening. Neil Armstrong spent two hours
and 21 minutes walking in the lunar dust.taking pictures of his crewmate,
Buzz Aldrin.raising the American flag.
NATS MEMORIAL MUSIC
Armstrong died on August 25th at 82 years old.
Today, he is being eulogized at a memorial service at the Washington
National Cathedral.filled with hymns and scripture.
SOT 10:15:05
He might have signified one step on the moon.but it was courage, grace and
humility that he displayed his whole life that put him above the stars.
He was a quiet, reserved man.born in small-town Ohio. fascinated with
flying from his teens.
SOT 10:28:35
Once he tasted flight, he looked skyward. And that's where he belonged.
After the moon walkArmstrong quickly retreated to Ohio where he taught
college lived on a farm married twice and had two kids.
And only rarely spoke publicly.
His last interview was this past May with Australian TV.
SOT NEIL ARMSTRONG
I thought we had a 90% chance of getting back safely to earth on that flight
, but only 50/50 chance of making a successful landing on the first attempt.
STANDUP WINICK
Neil Armstrong said his biggest disappointment about the moonwalk was that
after it was over, he never once had a dream about it.

SOME SIZES OF SODA ARE NOW BANNED IN THE LARGEST CITY IN THE U-S.
IT'S NEW YORK CITY'S LATEST ATTEMPT AT CURBING THE OBESITY EPIDEMIC.
AND IT HAS IMPLICATIONS FOR THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, TOO.
ERIKA EDWARDS EXPLAINS.

NEW YORK CITY IS PUTTING A LID ON OVER-SIZED SOFT DRINKS.
THE CITY'S BOARD OF HEALTH HAS APPROVED A LIMIT OF 16-OUNCES ON SODAS AND OTHER SUGARY BEVERAGES SERVED IN RESTAURANTS, MOVIE THEATERS, FOOD TRUCKS AND BALL PARKS. GROCERY STORES ARE EXEMPT.
THE AIM IS TO CUT CALORIES -- AND WHITTLE THE WAISTLINE OF THE MORE THAN 50-PERCENT OF NEW YORKERS CONSIDERED OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE.
"This the single biggest step any city I think has ever taken to curb obesity."
A TYPICAL CAN OF SODA IS 12 OUNCES -- AN AMOUNT ALLOWED UNDER THE BAN.
THE TYPICAL SINGLE-SERVE BOTTLE OF SODA IS 20 OUNCES -- -MORE- THAN WHAT WILL BE ALLOWED.
"This has nothing to do with banning your ability to buy as much, as many sugary drinks as you want, simply the size of the cup that can be used."
A GROUP AGAINST THE BAN CALLED "NEW YORKERS FOR BEVERAGE CHOICES" IS THREATENING LEGAL ACTION -- SAYING IT'S NOT FAT THAT WILL BE LOST. IT'S FREEDOM.
"We do not believe that restricting the size of one product in certain establishments in this city is the comprehensive approach that we need to deal with this issue."
BUT MANY OBESITY EXPERTS SAY IT'S AN IMPORTANT STEP -- THAT'S EXPECTED TO MARCH ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
"Boston has started talking about it, a number of cities in California, a number of cities in the Midwest, so what Mayor Bloomberg has done and the city of New York has done has started the dialogue on a critical issue."
DESPITE A LIKELY LEGAL BATTLE. THE BAN IS EXPECTED TO TAKE EFFECT IN MARCH.

ERIKA EDWARDS REPORTING.
THE BAN WILL NOT APPLY TO LOW-CAL FRUIT JUICES, DIET SOFT DRINKS OR DAIRY-BASED DRINKS LIKE MILKSHAKES.
