THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
An area of disturbed weather brought more clouds than rain across the area yesterday, however our weather should begin to improve as we head through our Friday as this moisture begins to shift to our west.
Our weather this morning will start off mainly dry along with temperatures in the mid 70s. We'll more than likely see a few more rays of sunshine through the day, which will allow temperatures to gradually work their way into the lower 90s.
A breezy east to northeasterly wind will set up across the Peninsula, dragging a few showers across the state and into our own backyards during the afternoon and early evening hours. Thereafter, our skies will go quiet and clearing conditions will take place overnight as lows dip into the mid 70s for most.
The weekend is looking pretty good with more sunshine in the morning and your typical hit or miss afternoon showers and storms.
Early next week, moisture will increase across Southwest Florida with more clouds than sun in the forecast. As our wind flow becomes more onshore off the Gulf of Mexico, showers and storms will be possible during the morning and afternoon hours. Due to the extra cloud cover and rain, temperatures will be held down a bit into the upper 80s.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Nadine continues to move on a northwesterly path while maintaining winds of 70 mph. Nadine is forecasted to become at least a category one hurricane over the next 24 hours, however it will start to take more of a northeasterly turn and recurve out to sea with no impact on and land areas.

A PROFESSOR BROUGHT HER BABY TO AMERICAN UNIVERSITY ---

DID SHE GO TOO FAR?
ABC'S CLAIRE SHIPMAN HAS THE STORY.

SCRIPT:
The first week of classes at American University, and assistant professor
and busy single mom Adrienne Pine woke up to a one year old daughter with a
fever. Her day care-not an option.
With no emergency sitters on hand, and not wanting to cancel her first
lecture, she brought her infant to work.
SOT ADRIENNE PINE
It wasn't the ideal option but the fact is there were no ideal options and
it was the best of the options available to me
Her baby Lee was fine -- at first. But then she started to fuss and Pine did
what she always does -- at home, on buses, at restaurants: Breast-fed her.
And she continued with her class while she did it.
SOT PINE
People seemed largely charmed, you know by the humanity that I think
children can bring to a workplace environment, without necessarily
detracting from the seriousness
GFX
then she learned of this tweet from one of the students --
Sex, gender, and culture professor, total feminist, walks in with her baby,
midway through class breast feeding time #wtf
And when the school paper got wind of the story, the campus started buzzing
-- offending some students.
MOS SARAH MILES
I think what's inappropriate is that she brought her child to class in the
first place. It's very distracting to a lot of the students.
And others were not --
SOT NIA MCCARTHY
She let us know that she was about to do it, so I wasn't too surprised. I
think she handled it in the most professional way that she could.
SOT MELISSA LAWRENCE, CLOUDMOM
I think that in a situation like this, which is unique and again she wasn't
making a habit of it, we really need to cut her some slack
Pine says she wasn't trying to start a revolution, she was just attempting
to manage, like so many moms do, an untenable situation.
SOT PINE
I'm surprised at the hostility that is clearly aimed at women in the
workplace and women who breast-fed in the workplace in particular
She's hoping, at least, her actions will spark not just controversy, but a
deeper discussion about how wrenching these childcare struggles can be.
especially for people with no cushion.

Collier County Judge Eugene Turner raps the campaign tactics of his election opponent, Jim McGarity, who declined to join Turner on TV;
Naples City Manager Bill Moss tells what he knows about talk of a convention center for downtown;
and new Naples Art Association executive Aimee Schlehr discusses the business side of the arts.
Judge Turner says claims of double dipping reflect poorly on his challenger, who is a court magistrate:
Turner:
I find that it is neither judicious nor fair to object to somebody who is following the law merely because you have a personal disagreement with the law.
We're not permitted to do that in court. We instruct juries not to do that. We must take the law as it's given to you by the court, by the Legislature. When you follow that law, you should not be criticized.
