A stalled front over the Florida peninsula is pumping lots of tropical moisture into Southwest Florida and is also helping to trigger rain and thunderstorms over the area and also in the Gulf of Mexico.
With the southwesterly wind flow in place, the trend will be for the rain in the Gulf of Mexico to drift towards the Southwest Florida coastline. Expect off and on showers and even a couple of thunderstorms through the evening.
The activity will wind down later tonight, with a mostly to partly cloudy sky and low temperatures near 75º.
The front doesn't move much tomorrow, so the pattern will remain the same, with lots of clouds, some sun from time to time and over half of Southwest Florida will get a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
The front begins to fall apart a bit by Thursday & Friday and a northeast wind will bridge the front, which will slightly dry us out and lower the rain chance. Still, about half of Southwest Florida will get some rain.
The weekend looks to be more of what you would expect this time of the year. Easterly wind flow will give us sun in the morning. Then the sea breeze moves ashore in the afternoon and triggers the afternoon storms.
I expect 40% of Southwest Florida to get a storm Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Highs will be close to 90º over the weekend.

"It's derailing the whole process early on."
PSYCHOLOGIST MARK BECKER AND PACKAGING EXPERTS CONDUCTED A STUDY TO TEST THAT THEORY.
USING EYE-TRACKING TECHNOLOGY, THEY GAVE PEOPLE FIVE PRESCRIPTION BOTTLES AND ASKED THEM TO STUDY THE BOTTLES LIKE THEY WOULD AT HOME. THEN ASKED WHAT THEY REMEMBERED.
"People spend a lot of time on that white label."
BUT…
"Often times, people never even looked at the warning label."
71-PERCENT OF THE PARTICIPANTS OLDER THAN 50 FAILED TO SEE ALL THE BRIGHTLY COLORED LABELS. 73-PERCENT OF YOUNG ADULTS DID READ ALL THE WARNINGS.
"Those that actually spent time on the prescription warning label were able to recall it."
USING BOTTLES FROM THE STUDY, WE DID OUR OWN NON-SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT. THESE TWO REVIEWED THE BOTTLES…THEN WE ASKED WHAT THE WARNINGS SAID.
"Good question. I don't know. I looked at the dosage, how many days you take it and what the drug was. I didn't look at the warnings."
"I didn't look at the warnings. I guess I just didn't turn it around and look at that other side. I just looked at the main label."

QSYMIA. IT'S THE FIRST NEW WEIGHT LOSS DRUG IN 13 YEARS. AND AVAILABLE
BY PRESCIPTION TODAY. IT'S A COMBINATION OF TWO MEDICATIONS THAT HAVE
LONG BEEN USED IN WEIGHT MANAGEMENT. ONE IS AN APPETITE SUPPRESSANT, THE
OTHER REDUCES CRAVINGS FOR FOOD.
SOT DR. LOUIS ARONNE / NY PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL/WEILL CORNELL MEDICAL CENTER
: "When you add the two together you get very, very good weight loss."
IT WORKED FOR 57-YEAR OLD GWENDOLYN BARTON, WHO'D TRIED JUST ABOUT
EVERYTHING TO LOSE THOSE EXTRA POUNDS.
SOT GWENDOLYN BARTON / QSYMIA USER: "I've done diet, I've done exercise and
I've done weight watchers. And none of it has ever helped me."
THAT IS UNTIL SHE TRIED QSYMIA. IN ONE YEAR, AS PART OF A CLNICAL TRIAL,
SHE DROPPED FIFTY POUNDS.
SOT GWENDOLYN BARTON / QSYMIA USER: "I went from a size 14 to a size 6, it
made me feel great."
PRESCRIPTION DIET DRUGS HAVE HAD A TROUBLED PAST MERIDIA WAS WITHDRAWN IN
2010 AND FENFLURAMINE IN 1997 AN INGREDIENT IN THE POPULAR DRUG FEN-PHEN
BOTH BECAUSE OF HEART VALVE CONCERNS.
BUT DOCTORS SAY QSYMIA IS PROMISING.
PATIENTS LOST AN AVERAGE OF 10 PERCENT OF THEIR BODY WEIGHT WHILE ON
THE MEDICATION. BUT IT ISN'T AS EASY AS JUST POPPING A PILL. THE
DRUG HAS TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A HEALTHY DIET AND EXERCISE. FOR
GWENDOLYN, IT'S ALL PAID OFF.
SOT GWENDOLYN BARTON / QSYMIA USER: "My blood pressure started to go down.
I felt much better. / I was able to do things with my grandkids just have
fun."

Highs will be close to 90º over the weekend.

just not normal here.

really matter like the children who don't have food and don't have parents,

A man accused of driving drunk and slamming his SUV into a Pompano Beach
apartment building with his 4-year-old stepdaughter in the vehicle appeared
in bond court on Tuesday morning.
Just after 4:30 p.m. Monday, German Hueso, 30, slammed a 1998 Ford Explorer
into his neighbor's apartment at 333 Southwest 2nd Street and ran away,
leaving his common-law wife's 4-year-old daughter in the wreckage, according
to the Broward Sheriff's Office. Hueso tried running away from the crash
scene but was held by neighbors until police arrived.
The girl was not in a car seat or wearing a seatbelt, according to Pompano
Beach firefighters.
Hueso was charged with DUI, operating without a valid driver's license, and
leaving the scene of an accident with damage to property. Judge John Hurley
issued a $16,000 bond for Hueso, saying in court that Hueso does not have a
valid driver's license or carry auto insurance.
"Police say you had a strong odor of alcohol," said Hurley.
According to investigators, Hueso had a blood alcohol content of.208,
nearly twice the legal limit of.08, and three interpretations had trouble
understanding Hueso while he was in custody.
"The court's concerned that you represent a danger to the community," said
Hurley.
The 4-year-old girl was transported to North Broward Medical Center with
minor injuries, and has since been released. She is now in the custody of
her mother.
