A stalled front over North Florida will keep the moisture flowing into Southwest Florida through our Wednesday, setting the stage for another day of scattered showers, storms, and cloudy skies. Some sunshine will also mix in at times, but the general theme will be more clouds than sunshine.
Satellite images this morning show a steady stream of clouds extending into the Gulf of Mexico, which will make for a considerable amount of cloud cover to start the morning. The patches of heavy rain and drizzle we had around through the night have fizzled, but we expect more scattered showers along with a few storms to develop in our coastal waters through the day.
With the steering flow moving from southwest to northeast, the rain that develops will take the same track as yesterday, moving from the Gulf and spreading inland.
Rain will be possible at any time during the day, but the prime time will likely coming from the early to mid afternoon. A few showers will even linger through the night with more showers developing close to the coast by Thursday morning.
Although temperatures will still be rather warm today, heating will be somewhat limited by the cloud cover and rain. Temperatures will start in the mid to upper 70s this morning and then warm into the mid to upper 80s later today. Winds shouldn't be as gusty today, but we could still get some gusts from 15-20 mph.
Even though the front to our north will become somewhat washed out and in a weakened state over the next couple days, its remnant moisture will stick around Southwest Florida, keeping scattered shower and storms in the forecast to close out the week. The timing of the rain will change a little by Friday, however, with the rain and storms mainly targeting the afternoon and evening hours.
This same pattern rolls along into the upcoming weekend, except we'll see sunnier and drier mornings with afternoon storms.

SCRIPT:
Appearing on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman", President Obama threw
an elbow at Mitt Romney for his controversial comment that nearly half of
Americans view themselves as victims.
OBAMA-SOT-
ONE OF THE THINGS I'VE LEARNED AS PRESIDENT IS YOU REPRESENT THE ENTIRE
COUNTRY./AND MY EXPECTATION IS IF YOU WANT TO BE PRESIDENT YOU'VE GOT TO
WORK FOR EVERYBODY, NOT JUST FOR SOME.
It was the president's first time weighing in on the secretly recorded video
-- leaked to the left leaning Mother Jones Magazine -- showing Romney
telling wealthy donors that 47 percent of the country is dependent on
government.
ROMNEY CLIP-SOT-
MY JOB IS NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE. I'LL NEVER CONVINCE THEM THEY
SHOULD TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBLITY AND CARE FOR THEIR LIVES.
Since the tape's release, the Romney Campaign has been scrambling to control
the damage. Romney last night on Fox News.
Romney on Cavuto-SOT-
WE WERE OF COURSE TALKING ABOUT A CAMPAIGN AND HOW HE'S GOING TO GET CLOSE
TO HALF THE VOTE/ I WANT TO GET 50.1 PERCENT OR MORE.
The Obama campaign moved swiftly to seize on the tapelaunching this web ad
with Chicagoans reacting.
I ACTUALLY FELT SICK TO MY STOMACH.
I DON'T LIKE IT.
IT SHOWS THAT HE'S OUT OF TOUCH.
The controversy comes at an awful time for the GOP nominee. He's fallen
behind President Obama in most polls and the comments could highlight one of
his weaknesses: voters don't believe he's empathetic.
A recent ABC News/Washington post poll found that 58 percent of
Americans said Romney would favor the wealthy over the middle class.

REPUBLICANS ARE TRYING TO TAKE ATTENTION OFF THE ROMNEY TAPE, POINTING TO AN

President Obama's response:
"I don't know what he was referring to, but I can tell you this, when I won in 2008, 47 percent of the American people voted for John McCain, they didn't vote for me and what I said on election night was even though you didn't vote for me, I hear your voices and I'm going to work as hard as I can to be your President

HERE'S WHAT MITT ROMNEY WAS SECRETLY RECORDED SAYING LAST MAY ABOUT THE 47 PERCENT OF AMERICANS WHO DON'T PAY TAXES:
Presidential Nominee SUPER NOT NEEDED
".who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it." ½FLASH¾ "My job is not to worry about those people."
AND - WITH CAMERAS NOW IN FULL VIEW - HERE'S WHAT HE SAID AT A FUNDRAISER LAST NIGHT:
Presidential Nominee
"I believe instead the role of government is to help those who need help. We're a compassionate people."
ROMNEY NOW ADMITS IN A FOX INTERVIEW THAT SOME OF THOSE NOT PAYING TAXES. AREN'T "VICTIMS" - AS HE CALLED THEM LAST MAY - BUT WEALTHY AMERICANS WHO SHOULD PAY/i:
Presidential Nominee
"I think people would like to be paying taxes. The good news if you're doing well enough financially that you can pay a tax."
PRESIDENT OBAMA - ON THE "LATE SHOW" LAST NIGHT - REACTING TO ROMNEY'S COMMENT ABOUT THE 47 PERCENT:
"My expectation is that if you want to be President you have to work for everybody not just for some."
BUT SOME HIGH PROFILE REPUBLICANS ARE BACKING THEIR NOMINEE:
Arizona
"I think in the context of what Governor Romney was saying is that we need to get people off of subsistence, that means job creation."

RACHEL MCNEILL EXPLAINS.
Return to index of stories...
THESE COLORFUL GEL WATER BALZ START OUT THE SIZE OF A PEA, THEN GROW AS BIG AS A RACQUETBALL WHEN IMMERSED IN WATER.
THEY CAUSED QUITE A SCARE FOR AN HUMBLE FAMILY WHEN EIGHT MONTH OLD AUNRAYA CONNOLLY SWALLOWED ONE.
"The balls got dropped on the floor she thought it was candy she picked it up she swallowed it realized it wasn't candy."
HER GRANDMOTHER FRIEDA DEWEESE SAYS THE TOY BELONGED TO AUNRAYA'S THREE YEAR OLD SISTER.
"She was continually throwing up she was dehydrated she was listless just wanted to sleep roll up in a ball you know she was just totally out of it."
THE FAMILY TOOK HER TO PEDIATRIC SURGEON DR. OLUYINA OLUTOYE.
"What makes this highly unusual actually is typically whatever you swallow would easily pass out. water balz are different because they come in very small but keep growing and get much bigger and that's what happened in this little girl."
A SCOPE HELPED DR. OLUTOYE SPOT THE TINY BALL.
"And interestingly you could look through the wall of the intestines and see this ball so it was easy to see through the pink intestines that it was some blue material there and we could push it around and identify where the blockage was."
DR. OLUTOYE REMOVED THE BALL FROM AUNRAYA'S INTESTINE AND SHE'S FULLY RECOVERED.
BUT HER GRANDMOTHER HAS A STERN WARNING TO THE MAKERS OF SUCH PRODUCTS.
"Put the warning larger bright colorful it must catch people's eyes most people do not read the fine print!"
WATER BALZ DO HAVE A WARNING LABEL STATING IT'S NOT RECOMMENDED FOR KIDS UNDER 3.
