Another nice day is in store for Southwest Florida with more sunshine, slightly lower humidity, and low rain chances in our forecast
A layer of dry, stable air will continue to settle over Southwest Florida through the day, keeping shower chances at a minimum and sunshine at a maximum. Some thin high clouds may stream overhead to dim the sunlight at times, but overall today will be quite sunny.
Another bonus from the drier air is our humidity levels will stay slightly lower during the heat of the day, so the air should feel a littler more comfortable and not quite as muggy.
It's still going to be a rather warm day, however. Temperatures will start pleasantly in the low 70s early this morning and then quickly climb into the mid to upper 80s by midday. During the middle of the afternoon, our temperatures will peak around 90 before settling back in the 80s this evening and then the low 70s overnight.
Moisture will slowly but surely start building back into Southwest Florida through the course of the week, so we'll mention just a few late day showers Tuesday afternoon and a few more showers and storms Wednesday.
For the second half of the week, rain chances will be around 50/50 with the prime time for rain coming in the afternoon and evening. Otherwise, look for a mix of sun and clouds through the week with highs close to 90 and lows in the low to mid 70s.

MORE THAN HALF IN 39 STATES WILL BE OBESE BY THE YEAR 20-30.

ACCORDING TO YALE UNIVERSITY'S RUDD CENTER FOR FOOD POLICY AND OBESITY, OVER 2-THIRDS OF AMERICANS ARE OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE.
IN AN EFFORT TO HELP THE AMERICAN WEIGHT PROBLEM MCDONALD'S HAS DECIDED TO START LISTING CALORIE INFORMATION ON MENUS IN 14-THOUSAND RESTAURANTS.
A NEW LAW REQUIRING THAT TAKES AFFECT NEXT YEAR AND MCDONALD'S IS GETTING A HEAD START.
AND IN NEW YORK THE BOARD OF HEALTH HAS VOTED TO BAN THE SERVING OF SUGARY DRINKS IN CONTAINERS BIGGER THAN 16 OUNCES OVER THE OBJECTION OF SOME.
"We do not believe that restricting the size of one product in certain establishments in the city is the comprehensive approach that we need to deal with this issue."
THE BAN APPLIES TO BALLPARKS, RESTAURANTS, MOVIE THEATERS AND FOOD TRUCKS AND ITS SOMETHING MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG HAS PUSHED.
"This is the single biggest step any city I think has ever taken to curb obesity."
"But will it work? Will posting calorie counts and banning big gulps really help Americans lose weight?"
"We don't know specifically whether these things will work until they're tried."
KELLY BROWNELL IS THE DIRECTOR OF THE RUDD CENTER. HE SAYS THERE ARE SOME STUDIES THAT SUGGEST MOVES LIKE THESE MAY BE EFFECTIVE.
"One thing that's nice is that different cities and states are trying different plans and this provides lots of natural experiments that you can use to converge on a small set of bets practices."
AND, HE ADDS, THE CONVERSATION ALONE IS HEALTHY.
"People are paying more attention to the obesity problem and at all levels of government officials are now thinking what can we do, what should we do, what do we need to do in our locality and those conversations will lead to good things."
BY THE WAY, A BIG MAC HAS 550 CALORIES ACCORDING TO MCDONALD'S NUTRITION INFORMATION.
