Showers and storms will continue making quite the splash across Southwest Florida through our Tuesday.
The soggy, unsettled pattern is the result of a large stream of tropical moisture flowing in from the southwest in advance of an approaching front that will lose steam before making it through Southwest Florida.
We get to experience the wet and stormy side of this weather system, which means we'll continue seeing passing showers and storms through the day. Like yesterday, there will be many dry periods in between the downpours as they work from south to north, so the entire day won't be a complete washout. Just prepare for the possibility of the sky going from sunshiny to showery rather quickly with so much moisture around.
Some of the today's rain will be quite heavy with some downpours even packing some lightning and gusty winds. Areas that get hit multiples times by these showers will see the potential of getting more than an inch or two of rain.
Outside of today's showers, we'll see breezy conditions with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will start out in the upper 70s and low 80s this morning and then peak in the mid to upper 80s during the afternoon.
Even during the overnight hours , showers will continue roaming across the area, and clouds will keep cluttering our sky.
Wednesday will be another wet one, too, with our rain chances staying close to 70%.
In fact, it doesn't look like we'll get much of a break from the rain until Thursday, but even then showers and storms will be in our forecast. The difference is instead of getting rain in the morning and afternoon, showers will mainly hold off until the afternoon and evening. We'll also notice more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
This will be the way our weather stays as we head into the weekend, too, when we'll start our days with sunny, mostly dry conditions until showers and storms fire up during the afternoon and evening.

PKG SCRIPT:
The stage is almost ready at the University of Denver where tomorrow night
President Obama and Mitt Romney will go head to head during the first
presidential debate.
At a rally last night in Denver, Romney previewed one of his lines of attack
.
SOT Romney
"WE'VE HAD 43 STRAIGHT MONTHS WITH UNEMPLOYMENT ABOVE EIGHT PERCENT. AND
WHAT DOES THE PRESIDENT HAVE TO SAY TO ALL THIS? HE SAYS, "FORWARD." I THINK
"FOREWARNED" IS A BETTER TERM!"
Romney's trailing President Obama in polls, and his campaign knows the
upcoming debates could be their best chance to turn things around.
That's why the candidate has spent many hours practicing.
He'll huddle with top advisers once again today.
In the mock debates, Senator Rob Portman of Ohio is playing the role of
President Obama.
SOT Romney
"HE'S PLAYING BARACK OBAMA IN THESE MOCK DEBATES WE HAVE. I DON'T LIKE HIM
MUCH ANYMORE ALRIGHT."
As for President Obama, he took a break from practice yesterday to visit a
campaign office and make a few calls to unsuspecting voters.
SOT Obama
"HI, IS THIS ANDREA? HI, THIS IS BARACK OBAMA, HOW ARE YOU? THAT'S RIGHT! "
It was just a brief break for the President, who like Romney, has been
rehearsing for days.
Senator John Kerry is playing the role of Romney in Mr. Obama's practice
sessions.
The Obama team continues managing expectations, saying last night that the
President is out of practice; the last time he debated was four years ago.
According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, 56-percent of
Americans expect President Obama to win the debates. Mitt Romney told voters
yesterday that the debates will be about more than just who comes out on
top. He said they're a month long conversation with the American people.

PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS TAKING THE PERSONAL APPROACH TO NAIL DOWN SUPPORT
AND LIKE ROMNEY. THE PRESIDENT SEES THE DEBATE AS A CHANCE TO TALK TO AMERICA.
"It's a choice between two different paths for this country."
THE PRESIDENT HAS A LEAD IN ALL NINE OF THE KEY BATTLEGROUND STATES.
