TONIGHT AT SIX -- WE'RE GETTING ANSWERS TO VOTER CONFUSION IN COLLIER COUNTY.
BECAUSE OF THE LENGTH OF THE BALLOT --SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS STATE-WIDE ARE ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO VOTE BY MAIL.BUT 38-THOUSAND ABSENTEE BALLOTS WENT OUT WITH THE **WRONG** INSTRUCTIONS.
HERE'S ABC7S CHIEF POLITICAL CORRESPONDENT. CHAD OLIVER. WITH YOUR VOICE.YOUR VOTE.

"Place your marked ballot in the enclosed secrecy envelope."
EVEN THOUGH FRED TALBOTT HAS READ AND RE-READ INSTRUCTIONS ON HIS MAIL-IN BALLOT. ONE THING STILL DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
"It says place your marked ballot in the enclosed secrecy envelope. Well, I looked around and there was no secrecy envelope."
THERE'S A GREEN SECRECY SLEEVE - INTENDED TO PROTECT VOTER I-D DURING THE COUNTING PROCESS. THERE'S A 'RETURN' ENVELOPE TO MAIL BACK THE BALLOT. BUT NO 'SECRECY' ENVELOPE.
"There was a time when there was a secrecy envelope."
COLLIER COUNTY'S CHIEF DEPUTY OF ELECTIONS REALIZES THE WRONG WORDING. AND PUTS THE BLAMES ON THE COMPANY HIRED TO PRINT AND SHIP BALLOTS.
"What they did was pull an old obsolete PDF, a version that we're no longer using and ran with that instead of the one we asked them to."
HE SAYS THE COUNTY MAY CHOSE ANOTHER PRINTER IN THE FUTURE. HIS FOCUS NOW IS MAKING SURE VOTERS REALIZE THEIR ABSENTEE BALLOTS WILL COUNT AND GO THROUGH THESE MACHINES AS LONG AS IT'S SIGNED.
"We're obviously not happy and what makes it really frustrating from our perspective is this has absolutely no impact on whether a ballot is going to be counted or not."
"My great concern is that other people sitting at home they get this and this look for that envelope and think oh my lord i can't send this in without that secrecy envelope, I just won't vote."
ESPECIALLY CONCERNING FOR A MAN WHO KNOWS THE POWER OF WORDS. TALBOTT IS A FORMER JOURNALIST. ATTORNEY. AND COLLEGE PROFESSOR.
"and I taught directives, that was part of it. How to right instructions."
DESPITE THE CONFUSION, HE DOESN'T REGRET ABOUT VOTING ABSENTEE.
"I'm glad we did it number 1 because it will save us time. but #2 because we found this and it may help someone."

Did the title get your attention? I'm sure it did. Refreshing is synonymous with exhilarating, rejuvenating, reinvigorating, and reviving.
Pick the term you want to use. It's how we can explain the pattern change coming to our weather this week.
A cold front has been teasing us from the north for several days now. It's finally going to move far enough to our south tonight that a little touch of dry air will invade south Florida. That dry air will greatly decrease our rain chances, clear out the skies, and lower our humidity levels.
This means it won't feel so oppressive every afternoon! Oh, and as for the mornings - We will see lows dropping as far down as 68 over the next seven days.
Refreshing.
Here's what will happen. Wednesday morning will be partly cloudy, and there will be a patchy fog around daybreak. Lows will be around 73. The sunshine will zap all the fog, and we see highs get close to the 90 degree mark. With the lower humidity rolling in it will not feel as uncomfortable. We'll also be dry tomorrow afternoon.
Thursday through Saturday is when you'll really feel the change. Lows will be in the upper 60s, and it'll simply be a great start to the day. We'll see mostly sunny, dry weather. Just gorgeous!
Sadly, it doesn't last long. Moisture begins returning on Sunday which gives way to a slight increase in humidity, clouds, and rain coverage.
