LITTLE TASTE OF FALL AHEAD
Dry, stable air is in the process of filtering into Southwest Florida, which will work to drastically lower our rain chances for the next several days.
Instead of tracking those afternoon showers and storms, we'll just be tracking sunshine and a few fair-weather clouds. Come Thursday, we'll even get a break from the oppressively high humidity we've endured for the last several months.
Here's how our Thursday breaks down. In a few areas , we'll start out with some patchy fog. Otherwise, we'll begin with a mostly clear sky and temperatures around 69 degrees… Yes, I said 69 degrees. Sunshine will pretty much dominate our sky through the day, too. Daytime temperatures will peak in the upper 80s to near 90.
Our sky stays clear tomorrow night as well, and with the low humidity levels - it'll feel great! Clear sky, light wind will allow temperatures to bottom out in the upper 60s to lower 70s for yet another night
The subtle drop in humidity will carry over into Friday, making the air feel slightly more splendid. Afternoon temperatures will still be rather warm though. That's what happens with dry air during the fall. Cool mornings and warm afternoons, but thankfully it won't feel oppressive!
Daytime highs will stay mainly in the upper 80s. A refreshing breeze will set up out of the east northeast from 5-15 mph, and we may even get gusts in the 20-25 mph range.
The beautiful weather also rolls along into Saturday. Saturday will feature mainly sunny skies and dry conditions with highs yet again nearing the upper 80s.
By Sunday, there should be enough moisture coming in with the easterly winds to produce a few hit-or-miss showers, but even then, most spots will stay dry.
Enjoy this stretch of dry, sunny, and slightly cooler weather! It looks like a hint of autumn will be in our air for the next few days.

WHEN I ASKED A FORT MYERS WOMAN WHY SHE HAD BECOME SUCH A LOUD VOICE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SHE GAVE ME ONE OF THE MOST BLUNT AND DIRECT ANSWERS I'D EVER HEARD.
5:40:00 "Because it pissed me off."
AND WHEN YOU FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS THAT MADE JULIE NOBLE SO ANGRY, YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY.

13:10:00 "We were just giggly girls."
AT A HOUSE IN FORT MYERS --
SPREAD OUT ON THE DINING ROOM TABLE --
YOU'LL LEARN ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW --
ABOUT JULIE NOBLE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HER YOUNGER SISTER, MELISSA MORRISON.
12:20:00 "We did everything together."
THEY WERE BORN JUST 15 MONTHS APART.
17:42:00 "She was my real-life barbie doll."
.AND THEY WERE INSEPERABLE.
SMILING.
DANCING.
TELLING SECRETS IN THE BEDROOM THEY SHARED.
14:37:00 "We were more than sisters."
TOGETHER, THEY TOOK THE SAME PATH IN LIFE.
ORANGEWOOD ELEMENTARY.
FORT MYERS MIDDLE.
FORT MYERS HIGH.
26:55:00 "One of the dances she attended in high school."
AND IT WAS PATH THAT ALWAYS SEEMED TO LEAD BACK HERE --
TO THEIR GRANDPARENTS HOUSE.
25:25:00 "They were here for my wedding."
JULIE GOT MARRIED IN THIS DRIVEWAY.
AND MELISSA ONCE BROUGHT HER BOYFRIEND HERE ---
A SMOOTH-TALKING BRIT NAMED "MARCUS."
THERE WERE HAPPY TIMES --
AND THE PICTURES PROVE IT.
1:40:45:00 "But somewhere along the line, Melissa and Julie's path -- split. Their lives went in different directions and the pictures started to change."
1:07:55:00 "It was just like he had used her as a rag doll."
1:06:00:00 "He would put his hands her neck and choke her."
MARCUS'S ABUSE WASN'T JUST PHYSICAL --
HE YELLED AND SCREAMED TOO.
EVEN SENDING ABUSIVE TEXT MESSAGES TO MELISSA.
1:05:15:00 "You're the worst thing that's ever happened to me."
BUT FOR EVERY TEXT OF HATE --
CAME TEXTS LIKE THIS.
AND THEY WOULD SOMEHOW LURE MELISSA BACK TO MARCUS LIKE A MAGNET.
6:38:00 "So he got a second chance, and a third chance, and a fourth chance."
7:11:00 "I told her that I was afraid he was going to kill her."
HERE -- IT'S THE WORDS NEXT TO THE PICTURE THAT TELL THE STORY.
APRIL 24TH, 2011.
1:11:38:00 "It was Easter of 2011."
1:13:14:00 "I remember my dad saying -- marcus killed melissa."
1:21:15:00 "What will always stick in my mind was where the first shot was placed."
1:12:38:00 "All I could remember was wanting to scream."
1:21:22:00 "It was close enough to her to leave powder burns on the clothing and the skin."
1:12:24:00 "My worst fear had just become true."
MARCUS SHOT AND KILLED HIMSELF TOO -- THAT EASTER SUNDAY IN TAMPA.
BUT NOT BEFORE MAKING MELISSA PART OF A STARTLING STATISTIC.
EVERY DAY IN THE U-S, THREE WOMEN ARE KILLED BY THEIR HUSBANDS OR PARTNERS.
EVERY NINE SECONDS, A WOMAN IS ABUSED.
1:31:53:00 "People need to be educated about domestic violence."
'just a slight pause here -- something to break up previous sot'
33 YEARS OF LOVE --
JOY --
AND SISTERHOOD ARE SPREAD OUT ON THIS DINING ROOM TABLE.
'nats of julie sobbing looking at pictures'
BUT KNOWING THERE WON'T BE ANY MORE PICTURES --
THAT THIS IS WHERE THE PATH ENDS --
IS HARD FOR JULIE TO TAKE.
21:58:00 "You ask me what pictures are my favorite -- they all are. Because these coupled with my memories is all I have left."

IN A CITY OF TEMPTATION.CAB DRIVERS KNOW HONESTY GOES A LONG WAY.
"That kind of money you don't keep that."
THEY'RE CONSTANTLY TESTED.
"I hope all the drivers do the same thing."
BUT THEY RARELY COME ACROSS A SITUATION LIKE 42-YEAR-OLD ADAM WOLDEMARIAM'S. A CAB DRIVER OF SEVEN YEARS. LAST MONTH, WOLDEMARIAM FOUND A BLACK LAPTOP CASE. IN THE BACK SEAT OF HIS VAN.
"I opened the case I looked it was money I was surprised I immediately go to the office."
HE TURNED IT ALL IN, TO THE CAB COMPANY OWNER'S LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT. ALL 221 THOUSAND 510 DOLLARS.
WE ASKED THE MOST COMMON QUESTION HE'S BEEN ANSWERING THESE DAYS. WHY NOT KEEP IT?
"Never, never I cant do that. That's not my money."
IT TURNS OUT, AN HOUR AFTER WOLDEMARIAM TURNED IN THE CASH, HE GOT A BIG THANK YOU HUG FROM THE OWNER. AND A MONETARY REWARD.
"He gave 2,000 dollar. That's it. hahaha."
HIS CAB FRIENDS TEASE THAT'S LESS THAN 1 PERCENT TIP. BUT TO HIM, IT MEANS A LOT TO HIS PARENTS AND 7 SIBLINGS IN ETHIOPIA.
"He was struggling to send money to family so it's a gift that 2,000 dollar means a lot to send back home it's good timing."
AND ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT CASH, HE DOES HAVE THIS.
"How many people have you shown that too, too many."
AND A QUARTER MILLION DOLLAR STORY TO TELL.
