530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WXWALL

A dose of dry air will arrive in Southwest Florida today, keeping rain out of the forecast and lowering humidity a few notches by this afternoon.

The slight dip in humidity should make the air feel a little more comfortable as we progress through the afternoon and evening, which will also set the stage for a nice and quiet overnight period with clear skies and lows temperatures close to 70.

The drier air mass will work to keep our sky mainly sunny through our Tuesday, and even with all the sunshine in place, temperatures should stay below 90 with most spots warming into the mid to upper 80s.

Our wind flow will primarily be out of the north and northeast today from 5-10 mph, helping to guide some of that dry air into Southwest Florida.

The sunny, dry weather won't be locked in for long. Another disturbance will swing in Wednesday, ushering in more cloud cover and producing a few isolated showers. Most of Wednesday showers should be inland, but a few coastal showers can't be ruled out either. The cloud cover will help to limit daytime heating tomorrow, so look for highs to only warm into the mid 80s.

The cloud cover and rain will fade Thursday as dry air takes control of the area once again. Look for lots of sunshine with highs in the upper 80s and very slim rain chances.

Friday should be a repeat performance of Thursday as our sky stays mostly sunny and rain free, but a weakening front will attempt to settle into Southwest Florida Saturday, which should manage to spark some isolated showers.

Earlier in the week, it looked as through this weekend's cool front could bring us a nice dip in temperatures and humidity, but models now suggest the front will be too weak to give us much of a change in those categories. Instead, it appears our temperatures will stay close to average through the weekend with highs reaching the upper 80s and lows falling to the low 70s. Rain chances should continue to stay relatively low, though, with rain coverage only near 20-30% both Saturday and Sunday. Return to index of stories...

HILLARY CLINTON ON BENGAHZI-CLIP-SOTTOPS-ONCAM

I take responsibility. I'm in charge of the State Department 60,000-plus people all over the world, 275 posts.

HILLARY CLINTON MAY BE TRYING TO DOUSE THE POLITICAL FIRESTORM. BREWING OVER THE DEADLY ATTACK AT THE U-S CONSULATE IN LIBYA.

HILLARY CLINTON ON BENGAHZI-PKG

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HAS COME UNDER INCREASING CRITICISM OVER THE SEPTEMBER 11-TH ATTACK AT THE AMERICAN CONSULATE IN BENGHAZI, LIBYA THAT KILLED AMBASSADOR CHRIS STEVENS AND THREE OTHER AMERICANS.

BUT, HILLARY CLINTON SAYS WHEN IT COMES TO PROTECTING AMERICAN DIPLOMATS OVERSEAS -- THE BUCK STOPS WITH HER.

I take responsibility. I am in charge of the state department. Sixty thousand plus people all over the world, 275 posts. The President and the Vice President certainly wouldn't be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals.

JOE BIDEN ADDED FUEL TO THE FIRE DURING LAST WEEK'S VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE WHEN HE SAID THE WHITE HOUSE WAS NOT AWARE OF REQUESTS TO INCREASE SECURITY AT the U-S mission in BENGHAZI.

We weren't told they wanted more security, we did not know they wanted more security.

BUT THAT CONTRADICTED STATE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES WHO TESTIFIED THAT REQUESTS TO BOOST SECURITY HAD BEEN MADE -- AND WERE REJECTED.

CLINTON SAYS IT'S NOT SURPRISING THAT IT HAS TAKEN TIME TO SORT OUT ALL THE DETAILS.

In the wake of an attack like this, in the fog of war, there is always going to be confusion and I think it's absolutely fair to say that everyone had the same intelligence.

CLINTON SAYS WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION JUST A FEW WEEKS AWAY, SHE DOESN'T WANT THE BENGHAZI INCIDENT TO BECOME "SOME KIND OF POLITICAL GOTCHA OR BLAME GAME."

I'M ED PAYNE REPORTING. Return to index of stories...
