pretty stressful, but those guys pulled it off.

HOMESNOW ALL THAT'S LEFT IS A DARK EMPTY PLOT OF LAND.
0; 31; 26; 21-we're now flying over Staten Island, the hardest of the five
boroughs to get to and the devastations is just unimaginable. It almost
looks like a wrecking ball just came through and just swept these homes out
from this high up in the air, it almost looks like toothpicks just scattered
everywhere across this borough. There are some areas that are so bad and
the flooding is so severe there were few homes that were just swept up off
their foundation and just swept up into a field of marsh and that's where
they sit.
THIS STATEN ISLAND MARINA LOOKS LIKE A BUNCH OF TOY BOATS PILED UPBUT FROM
THE WATER WE GET A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE.
01; 05; 16 JS: Capt. Russo what are looking at right now?
CR: basically what we're looking at is an entire section of a marina that
used to be on this side of harbor. With the southeast winds it broke off of
the pilings. The whole entire section dock bringing all of the boats that
were tied up with it and grabbing anything that might have been in its path
through this mooring field. Washing up on this side of the harbor.
WHEN THE FLOOD LEVELS ROSE AS HIGH AS 8 TO 10 FEET THIS HARBR UNIT HAD TO
GET CREATIVE.
CR: we took zodiacs, john boats, rafts, whatever floatation devices we had,
we had persons dresses as and we were walking these rafts through the
streets of Staten Island and pulling people out of their homes. This was all
done joint effort, all special operations, division units' emergency
service, harbor, aviation were a part of this rescue effort.
FORTUNATELY MANY OF THE RESIDENTS DID LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS AND EVACUATEBUT
NOW THE DAUNTING CLEANUP PROCESS HAS BEGUN.
SOT Woman: when I came back I saw what you see now like I have all boats, I
always wanted to own a boat but not this way now it looks like own three

FULL WX
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
It's shaping up to be an absolutely delightful weekend across Southwest Florida.
Sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, and low humidity will headline this first weekend of November, and there's a few more surprises coming down the road as we head into next week.
Sunday will be another beauty. Highs will again climb into the low to mid 80s, and we'll be treated to more blue skies and sunshine from start to finish. Humidity will be a few notches higher but will stay very comfortable. If you're heading out to chow down at Taste of the Town, the weather looks perfect.
The sunny weather carries over into next week until we hit a little speed bump on Tuesday as the next cold front slips into Southwest Florida. We'll notice more cloud cover along with the potential for some scattered showers during the afternoon and evening. While rain chances get a little boost, the chance of getting wet will only be around 30%, so this won't be a wash out-just a few hit-or-miss showers roaming around.
After the front passes, another batch of cool, dry air will come rushing into Southwest Florida starting Wednesday. There are signs this front may actually be the strongest one so far this season, and we'll feel the difference Wednesday. Temperatures should only warm into the middle 70s despite a nice supply of sunshine, and a noticeable chill returns to the air Wednesday night as temperatures cool into the low 50s with some 40s deeper inland.
Temperatures will then begin to moderate a bit Thursday and Friday as daytime highs approach 80 degrees.
Enjoy this beautiful stretch of weather from the weekend into next week, and remember.the clocks fall back an hour tonight!
