THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
It was a spectacular Saturday across Southwest Florida and our Sunday is shaping up to be just as nice.
The only hiccup in our weather today will be areas of fog developing early this morning as skies have remained clear through the night and winds have been relatively calm. At times, the fog could be locally dense with visibilities being reduced to 1/4 of a mile with improving conditions around mid morning. As a result, a dense fog advisory has been issued until 9am for Glades, Hendry, Lee, DeSoto, Charlotte, Coastal Collier and inland Collier counties.
High pressure will once again have a firm grip on the "Sunshine State", which means we'll see another sunny day with warming temperatures. After lows in the upper 50s to low 60s this morning, highs will rebound into the lower to middle 80s. Our coastal and beach locations will hover one or two points below 80° due to a light onshore breeze during the afternoon. Slightly drier air will stay entrenched across the peninsula keeping our humidity levels rather comfortable making it a fantastic finish to the weekend.
This evening clear skies will dominate with a beautiful sunset on tap as temperatures drop through the middle 70s before eventually settling into the lower half of the 60s. By sunrise tomorrow morning you may even notice a bit of patchy fog once again.
Some changes are coming down the pike, but not until Tuesday. The new work week will start off mainly dry, however we will notice a few more clouds dotting the sky. By late Monday and into Tuesday we'll be tracking a cold front as it pushes southbound across the state late in the day. This will keep a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast, however with limited moisture this front looks to bring only a 20-30% chance for some hit or miss showers.
In the wake of this frontal passage, we'll return to beautiful blue skies and cooler than normal temperatures. Highs by Wednesday will stay pleasant in the mid 70s with overnight lows in the lower to mid 50s by early Thursday morning. By the end of the week, a gradual warm up will be underway with temperatures approaching 80°.

IN THE COMING MONTHS, CONGRESS WILL NEED TO TACKLE BIG ISSUES --

REPUBLICANS WON CONTROL OF THE HOUSE IN 2010 -- RIDING A WAVE OF VICTORIES BY TEA PARTY-BACKED CANDIDATES CARRYING A MESSAGE OF FISCAL CONSERVATISM AND STRONG OPPOSITION TO "OBAMACARE."
SO WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME AROUND?
BACK IN SEPTEMBER, DEMOCRATIC LEADER NANCY PELOSI HAD HIGH HOPES FOR HER PARTY'S PROSPECTS.
We have a very excellent chance to take back the House.
BUT SO DID REPUBLICAN HOUSE SPEAKER JOHN BOEHNER.
I continue to feel confident of House Republicans' chances of holding on to our majority.
REPUBLICANS HAVE 242 SEATS TO THE DEMOCRATS 193' - SO DEMOCRATS NEED A NET GAIN OF 25 SEATS TO WIN THE MAJORITY.
ANALYSTS SAY THAT'S NOT LIKELY TO HAPPEN.
There's little doubt that Republicans will control the House again after November. They'll probably suffer very minimal losses if they suffer losses at all.
FOR REPUBLICANS -- OBAMACARE IS STILL FRONT AND CENTER -- ALONG WITH THE ECONOMY.
DEMOCRATS HAVE TRIED TO LINK REPUBLICAN TO VICE PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL PAUL RYAN'S PLANS TO TURN MEDICARE INTO A VOUCHER PROGRAM.
SOMETHING DEMOCRATS SAY WOULD BE DISASTROUS FOR SENIORS.
REPUBLICANS BELIEVE THEY'VE NEUTRALIZED THAT MESSAGE BY ARGUING OBAMACARE HURTS SENIORS BY SLASHING MEDICARE.
REDISTRICTING WILL HAVE A BIG IMPACT - HELPING REPUBLICANS.
For the most part Republicans, because they made such overwhelming gains not only in Congress, but in state legislatures last year. They were able to control the redistricting process in a lot of key states for example, North Carolina, where Democrats will probably lose a couple of seats this cycle.
GOP GAINS LOOK LIKELY IN DISTRICTS FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO ARKANSAS AMONG OTHERS.
IN FACT, PARTY OPERATIVES SAY THEY'VE EVEN PUT TRADITIONAL BLUE STATES LIKE RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS INTO PLAY.
DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING HARD TO UNSEAT GOP INCUMBENTS IN BLUE STATES LIKE CALIFORNIA, NEW YORK AND ILLINOIS AND COULD SEE GAINS IN MARYLAND AND FLORIDA.
SO WHY DO THESE HOUSE RACES MATTER?
MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WILL HAVE TO MAKE BIG DECISIONS IN THE COMING MONTHS.
CHIEF AMONG THEM REACHING A DEAL TO AVOID THE SO-CALLED FISCAL CLIFF.
A SERIES OF TAX INCREASES AND SPENDING CUTS SET TO TAKE EFFECT NEXT YEAR.
The decisions confronting Congress over the next four months are bigger than I think most of us have seen in our lifetime at least on the fiscal matters.
AND IT'S NOT JUST THE FISCAL CLIFF.
Most people think we need some fundamental tax reform, some cuts in spending and some entitlement reform and there's no indication that the new Congress will be willing to do that either short term in the lame duck or longer term.
SO THE FORECAST FOR THE NEXT CONGRESS?
MORE OF THE SAME.

AS A LITTLE GIRL, LAKISHA DREAMED OF A DISNEY WEDDING.
SANDY ALMOST RUINED THAT DREAM WHEN SHE LITERALLY WASHED RIGHT THROUGH THE COUPLE'S BROOKLYN HOME.
"Literally in about 20 minutes it went from our ankles almost to our waist, so at that point we knew we had to evacuate. And after that it just became survival mode."
SO THE TWO LEFT THEIR HOME.AND EVERYTHING IN IT.EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.LAKISHA'S BEAUTIFUL WHITE GOWN.
"Lakisha was like under no circumstances can this dress get wet."
DETERMINED NOT TO LET THEIR DREAM FALL THROUGH. THEY PLEADED WITH THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY TO GET THEM ON A FLIGHT TO ORLANDO.BUT ALL TRIPS OUT WERE CANCELED.
"So we pooled our resources together and we ended up chartering a bus. We got on the bus yesterday morning at 6:00 a.m. and we made it down here at 3:30 this morning."
AND WITH ALL 80 OF THEIR GUESTS, LAKISHA GOT HER DREAM WEDDING, EVEN COMPLETE WITH FIREWORKS!!
AND FOR JUST THIS DAY, THEY'RE FORGETTING ABOUT THE HEARTACHE.
"We are just so very thankful and very happy to be here right now, and I love you woman."
"I love you, too."

YOU'VE PROBABLY SEEN THEM AT THE GYM OR AROUND TOWN-
THOSE FORM-FITTING SHOES THAT LEAVE THE WEARER FEELING ALMOST BAREFOOT.

HAY WAN CHIU IS AN AVID RUNNER.
HE'S WORN ALL KINDS OF SHOES, ALTHOUGH HE PREFERS TO RUN BAREFOOT.
BUT THAT CAN BE TOUGH ON THE TOES, SO WHEN THE NEW BAREFOOT RUNNING SHOES CAME OUT HE'D THOUGHT HE'D GIVE THEM A TRY.
"It feels like you're running on air like everybody says. And also you've got to be really careful not to overdo it."
HOW CAN A SHOE WITH SPACE FOR FIVE TOES AND VERY LITTLE SOLE, PROTECT A FOOT AND HELP RUNNERS PERFORM MORE EFFICIENTLY?
THAT'S WHAT THE FOLKS AT THIS PODIATRY LABORATORY AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY WERE ASKING.
SO THEY TESTED THE SHOE TO SEE IF IT GAVE ENOUGH SUPPORT AND PROTECTION.
"It creates more flexibility, better balance, more agility, better toe strength. I think it's all around a good thing for feet."
BUT WHETHER YOU'RE AN EXPERIENCED RUNNER OR A NOVICE YOU HAVE TO SLOWLY TRANSITION INTO BAREFOOT SHOES, SAYS DR. WHITNEY.
"People get into trouble when they run too far, too fast on the wrong surface."
AND SOFTER SURFACES ARE BETER THAN ASPHALT OR CONCRETE.
BUT THESE MINIMALIST SHOES AREN'T FOR EVERYONE.
THOSE WITH ANY TYPE OF FOOT OR ANKLE PAIN OR INJURY SHOULD TALK TO THEIR DOCTOR FIRST.
BUT FOR RUNNERS LIKE CHIU THEY SEEM TO BE A PLEASANT ALTERNATIVE TO GOING SHOELESS.
FOR TODAY'S HEALTH MINUTE I'M SUSAN HENDRICKS.
