FINAL CAMPAIGN HOURS-SAT ???

SCRIPT:

Republican challenger Mitt Romney is closing the campaign promising voters

bipartisanship and real change.

Romney-SOT-

I'LL ENDEAVOR TO FIND THOSE GOOD MEN AND WOMEN ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE

WHO CARE MORE ABOUT THE COUNTRY THAN THEY DO ABOUT POLITICS.

With polls showing the race a dead-heat, the Romney campaign is focused on

turnout.

At this field office in battleground Ohio, volunteers call a list of voters

they believe lean Republicanwhile other supporters knock on doors in search

of people still undecided.

SOT-

I HAVEN'T MADE UP MY MIND YET.

The Romney campaign believes enthusiasm among its base and strength with

independents will carry them to victory tomorrow.

But there's still the reality of the math.

Without Ohio, Romney's path to victory is difficult. That's why he's making

a late play for Pennsylvania, traditionally Democratic turf.

President Obama, meanwhile, spends his day focusing on three states

his campaign hopes will be his firewall - Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio. If Mr.

Obama can win these three states, that would give him 271 electoral votes,

just one vote over the 270 needed to win a second term.

O/C Close: MITT ROMNEY'S LAST CAMPAIGN STOP IS TONIGHT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. HE'

LL BE JOINED BY HIS WIFE ANN, AND MUSICIAN KID ROCK. AFTER THAT

Return to index of stories...

530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WXWALL

Our stretch of pleasant weather continues this Monday, but a strong cool front will bring some considerable changes to Southwest Florida by Election Day.

Before we get to the big changes coming this week, let's focus on how our Monday plays out because we do expect a few changes today. First, you'll notice quite bit more cloud cover today compared to the clear blue skies we had over the weekend.

The reason why is there's a big band of clouds getting carried by the upper-level wind flow right into South Florida. Our sky shouldn't be completely clouded up, and we'll even enjoy partial sunshine. Just don't expect to see those clear blue skies again today.

Aside from the extra cloud cover, our Monday weather looks pretty nice. No rain is in the forecast, and daytime temperatures will be very comfortable with highs projected to climb into the low 80s this afternoon. Humidity will also stay at comfortable levels, and winds will be out of the northwest from 5-10 mph.

Now, on to the big changes we expect to see this week: starting Tuesday, a pretty strong cold front will start having an influence on our weather. The first phase of change comes in the form of some rain as the actual front passes through Southwest Florida. We expect some widely scattered showers and perhaps even a storm or two to move through Tuesday afternoon. Rain chances won't be too impressive, but roughly 30-40% of us will see a passing shower.

By Wednesday, another cool air mass will settle over Southwest Florida, and some forecast models point to this being the coolest air we've had around here so far this season. As the cool, dry air comes rushing in Wednesday, temperatures will struggle to warm into the mid 70s during the afternoon.

Temperatures drop even lower Wednesday night with lows expected to dip into the low 50s across the urban corridor and mid to upper 40s inland.

Daytime temps stay cool again Thursday with highs only reaching the low to mid 70s. By Friday and into the upcoming weekend, temperatures start to moderate again with highs getting back up around 80 degrees. Return to index of stories...

SCRIPT:

WINICK LIVE IN

More than 27 million Americans have cast their votes in 34 states and the

District of Columbia already.

A sign of how close the Obama campaign believes this could be, the President

appeared in New Hampshire -- which has only 4 electoral votes

SOT OBAMA

We're no longer relevant now. We're props. Because what's happened is now

the campaign falls on these 25-year-old kids who are out there knocking on

doors, and making phone calls.

There, he was joined by joined by Bill Clinton, who mocked Mitt Romney's

pitch.

SOT CLINTON IN NH

Don't pay too much attention to what our solutions are. Just be

disappointed -- and look at me, I look like a president. and I talk like one. And I'm telling you it's all going to be

all right if you elect me.

WITH one day TO GO UNTIL THE ELECTION. the candidates criss cross

battleground states.

GOVERNOR ROMNEY 14 STOPS IN 7 STATES.

PRESIDENT OBAMA 14 STOPS IN 8 STATES.

Both claim victory is within reach.

SOT ROMNEY

He's hoping we'll settle. Americans don't settle. We build. We aspire. We

dream. We can do better!

Romney is even making a play for TRADITIONALLY DEMOCRATIC Pennsylvania.

The candidates and their running mates all made stops in the critical

battleground state of Ohio.

That, along with Iowa and Wisconsin are expected to decide the race.

SOT GEORGE

If president Obama can win these three - on top of the solid blue states

democrats have taken in the last several elections - he will have the 271

electoral votes he needs to win - even if governor Romney sweeps all the

rest of the battleground states.

STANDUP WINICK

The latest abc news/Washington post poll shows the race essentially

deadlocked.

49 percent of likely voters support Obama - 48 percent Romney.
