It's a small price to pay for the privilege of being able to vote every four years. It's not like we're asking them to do this all the time. This is extremely, extremely unusual. We planned for what we thought we were going to need. And with that long ballot, it's creating havoc everywhere.

Weather wise our Election Day was a little bleak. Conditions will certainly improve over the next twenty four hours.
Another cold front has settled over central Florida, and it's the reason we're seeing such depressive weather. It's funneling moisture in off the Gulf which gives us the overcast skies and showers. Its counterpart - a Low pressure that now sits in the Atlantic Ocean - will track up the east coast. In return, the cold front will push through southwest Florida and usher in some drier, cooler weather for the week's end.
Will you notice? You bet, but not right away. Typically we don't feel the dry, cool air enter any particular area right after a front passes through. That air will normally arrive two days after the frontal passage.
So, here's what I expect - Wednesday will start off a little warm and humid with lows in the lower 60s. It'll also be clear to start the day, and when you factor in lights winds and the rain we picked up on Tuesday that spells morning fog. The sun will rise and being eroding all the fog soon after daybreak.
The dry, cool air mass will start trying to penetrate south Florida later in the day. As a result we'll see our skies turn mostly cloudy as the cool air hits the warm Gulf waters. These clouds will not bear any rain at all! By the end of the day our afternoon temperatures will be around 75 degrees.
Do use caution if you hit the waters. Winds will be brisk as they come from the Northwest at 15-20 knots. This will cause the seas to be around 3 to 4 feet.
Sadly, the same system that gave us our rain will continue to cruise up the east coast this week. It'll continue to
strengthen, and on Thursday, sadly, it'll impact the Mid-Atlantic and New England area. That's the same region hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Thankfully this system will not even compare to Sandy, but will add insult to injury.
They're going to see winds sustained of 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 50. Heavy rains will be an issue so coastal and inland flooding is a hazard, too. Along with that cold air on the backside is the perfect ingredient for heavy, wet snow.
