Return to index of stories...
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
You could definitely feel the change in the airmass yesterday as highs peaked only into the lower to middle 70s, which kept us a good 10° below the norm for this time of year. Thursday looks like a repeat performance as cooler and drier air filters down the state.
As you step out the door this morning, you will notice a more dramatic drop in temperatures as most of us have settled into the middle 50s along the urban corridor with a few upper 40s deeper inland. Slightly milder conditions will be felt along our coastal and beach locations with temperatures in the upper 50s to 60°.
A few clouds are still possible in the morning forecast for Thursday, however with a northerly wind developing throughout the day, that will allow some even drier and cooler air to filter down the spine of the peninsula. This will clear any of the leftover clouds out allowing for bright sunshine to return to Southwest Florida. Despite our sunny skies during the afternoon, temperatures will only climb into the lower 70s with very comfortable humidity levels.
Thursday night looks to be the chilliest of the week. Temperatures will plummet into the upper 40s to low 50s along the urban corridor with a few middle 40s across our inland and northern communities.
It will be a spectacular finish to the work week as high pressure remains in control of our weather pattern with plentiful sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures in the upper 70s. By the weekend, our winds will take more of an easterly turn, which will bring a bit of low level moisture across the state. By Saturday and Sunday, expect a few more clouds dotting the sky with temperatures recovering back into the lower 80s.
Right now computer forecast models are indicating another cold front moving down the peninsula Tuesday with the possibility of a few more cloudy periods and our next chance for rain

IN HEALTH NEWS --
PATIENTS WITH DIABETES HAVE TO KEEP A *CLOSE EYE ON THEIR BLOOD SUGAR.
BUT NOW --
NEW TECHNOLOGY MIGHT MAKE THAT A LITTLE EASIER.
DOCTOR BRUCE HENSEL EXPLAINS.
Return to index of stories...
THE HOTTEST NEW HEALTHCARE TOOL MAY ALREADY BE RIGHT IN YOUR OWN POCKET.
YOU TALK ON IT, YOU TEXT, EMAIL, AND NOW, IF YOU'RE DIABETIC, YOU CAN EVEN TEST YOUR OWN BLOOD SUGAR ON YOUR SMART PHONE.
NORMALLY DIABETICS HAVE TO CARRY AROUND A SEPARATE GLUCOSE METER WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES… IN ADDITION TO THEIR PHONE.
"Diabetics have to carry around a lot of stuff. The great thing about smart phone technology is it's one less thing they now have to carry."
JAMES WINCHESTER, WHO IS DIABETIC, TRAVELS AROUND THE COUNTRY DEMONSTRATING HOW TO TURN YOUR PHONE INTO A BLOOD GLUCOSE METER.
YOU NEED JUST 2 THINGS - THE GMATE PHONE APP, AND THE SMART DEVICE - IT'S THE SIZE OF A QUARTER AND PLUGS INTO THE HEADPHONE JACK OF YOUR IPHONE.
AND SINCE YOUR CELL PHONE IS BASICALLY A HAND HELD COMPUTER, THE APP KEEPS TRACK ALL YOUR RESULTS, AND CHARTS OUT YOUR BLOOD SUGAR RESULTS OVER TIME.
AND YOU CAN INSTANTLY EMAIL ALL THESE RESULTS TO YOUR DOCTOR OR FAMILY MEMBERS.
PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGIST KEVIN KAISERMAN SAYS THIS IS JUST ONE OF MANY ADVANCES THAT USES NEW TECHNOLOGY TO HELP PEOPLE MANAGE THEIR DIABETES.
"The greatest advantage is to help people gather, and be able to synthesize, analyze the information in a way that helps them not just have a single piece of information but to look for trends and analyze over time how their diabetes is being managed, where they can make adjustments to better manage their diabetes going forward."

SOMETIMES THE *BEST PART OF AN ELECTION.
IS RE-LIVING IT.
THROUGH THE EYES OF A T-V ANCHOR.
JEANNE MOOS COMPILED SOME OF THE BEST AND ODDEST MEDIA MOMENTS.
Return to index of stories...
IF YOU MISSED THE MOMENT LIVE, LET'S RE-LIVE IT.
President Obama has been re-elected.
President of the United States.
It was a hard fought battle.
The Colbert Report is ready to project that CNN has projected that Animal Planet has predicted that the winner of 2012 presidential election is Barack Obama.
TALK ABOUT A THOUGHTFUL PUNDIT. AFTER PAINTING A BLEAK PICTURE OF PRESIDENT OBAMA'S SECOND TERM, FOX COMMENTATOR DR. CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER JOKED.
So as a psychiatrist I will offer to write prescriptions for anybody who needs them right now.
BUT OBAMA SUPPORTERS WERE ECSTATIC. CNN EVEN CUT AWAY TO SOME IN KENYA. SPEAKING OF WHICH.
WHAT WOULD AN ELECTION NIGHT BE WITHOUT A DONALD TRUMP ANGLE?
AFTER MITT ROMNEY'S LOSS, TRUMP TWEETED THIS ELECTION IS A TOTAL SHAM AND TRAVESTY.WE SHOULD HAVE A REVOLUTION IN THIS COUNTRY WHICH PROMPTED NBC'S BRIAN WILLIAMS TO LAUNCH THIS ZINGER.
Donald Trump who has driven well past the last exit to relevance.
THE EXIT FOR MITT ROMNEY WAS OHIO, BUT AFTER FOX NEWS CALLED OHIO FOR OBAMA, THE NETWORK'S OWN BEST KNOWN COMMENTATOR OBJECTED.
We gotta be careful about calling things.
That's awkward
ONCE KARL ROVE QUESTIONED THE CALL BY FOX'S DECISION DESK, MEGYN KELLY WALKED BACK THERE.
Whoa careful.
LIVE CAMERA IN TOW.
Keep coming here we go.
We're actually quite comfortable with call on Ohio
BUT THE ANCHOR WHO GOT THE MOST FLAK WAS ABC'S DIANE SAWYER.
Ok can we have music because this is another big one here.
VIEWERS THOUGHT HER DELIVERY WAS STRANGE."'LL HAVE WHAT DIANE SAWYER IS HAVING TWEETED SINGER JOSH GROBAN.
President Barack Orama Obama has won Minnesota.
SOMEONE ELSE TWEETED AND DIANE SAWYER DECLARES TONIGHT'S WINNER IS.CHARDONNAY. OFFICIALLY ABC WOULDN'T COMMENT BUT STAFFERS SUGGEST DIANE WAS JUST EXHAUSTED FROM HURRICANE COVERAGE AND DEBATE PREP.
AND WHAT'S AN ANCHOR SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN SHE GETS A CALL OF NATURE WHILE SHE'S IN THE MIDDLE OF CALLING STATES?
I came back from the bathroom and said that Colorado still too close to call. Nobody told me while in bathroom Colorado went for President Obama. thank you guys. I really appreciate it.
THE ONE THING NETWORKS DON'T PROJECT ARE BATHROOM BREAKS. JEANNE MOOS, CNN,
Good news for Mitt Romney he has won tonight, we can announce right now, most of the confederacy.
NEW YORK.
