THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
After a spectacular finish to the week, we're in store for another pretty nice weekend here across Southwest Florida. The cool and dry airmass that was with us for the second half of the week is beginning to moderate and that will mean some slight changes to our weather.
Temperatures this morning won't be quite as chilly as yesterday, as lows have settled into the middle and upper 50s across the urban corridor. If you're up and at 'em early today, especially across our inland and northern communities you'll definitely want the sweaters and jackets as a few readings will be in the lower 50s.
High pressure that is moving across the southern states and across the eastern seaboard will continue to hold its grip on our weather keeping our pattern dry and stable. We'll start our Saturday with patchy clouds and sunshine, and that will take any chill out of the air as temperatures recover into the upper 70s to 80°.
Our winds will begin to pick up out of the east northeast around 15 mph throughout the day and transport some low level moisture from the Atlantic in the form of a few fair weather clouds that will dot our sky. Humidity levels will still be on the comfortable side, however we will start to see some slightly higher moisture values early next week.
Tonight, our skies will remain mostly clear and lows will be cool near 60° here in town with temperatures a few points cooler just east of I75.
Easterly flow kicks in on Sunday with partly sunny skies and a nice warming trend with highs in the lower 80s. A very weak front will make its way across the northern portion of the peninsula before decaying across the state. This will more than likely bring us a mix of sun and clouds Monday and Tuesday with the threat for a shower or two. Other than the increase in cloud cover, expect a pretty nice stretch of weather next week with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.

"I think it should be a sense of accomplishment more than relief."
Pilots presented their final contract offer to American late Friday.
And the airline agreed to it.
SOT: Mark Drusch / Fareportal Executive
"Thankfully the industry as a whole is doing better. Even American is doing
better. So that means American had a little more financial leeway than even
12-months ago. I think all those things said, the timing is probably good."
Mark Drusch is a former airline executive who's watched American's
bankruptcy closely.
After six weeks of intensive negotations - not to mention those painful
delays and cancellations last month - pilots say they negotiated a contract
similar to their competitors - though no one would yet reveal details.
SOT: Mark Drusch / Fareportal Executive
"No one will ever admit this but let's be honest. American came back to the
table. Now that the pilots have created this opportunity it's up to them to
accept what's been negotiated."

JOHN TURNER IS BACK HOME IN THE SOUTH SUBURBS. BUT HE'LL NEVER FORGET WHAT HE SAW ON THE EAST COAST.
"Whole half of houses gone. We saw houses moved down the streets, vehicles turned over."
THE 38-YEAR-OLD TURNER RUNS A WATER REMOVAL BUSINESS CALLED NATIONAL CATASTROPHE SOLUTIONS OF CHICAGO.
HE AND HIS STAFF CLEANED UP HOMES FLOODED BY SUPERSTORM SANDY INCLUDING SOME FOR FREE FOR HOMEOWNERS WHO'D LOST EVERYTHING.
"Some people didn't have insurance coverage. Some people never would have expected this. It's one of those 100 years deals."
IT WAS LAST SUNDAY. AFTER A HARD DAY OF CLEANUP. THAT TURNER BOUGHT THIS NEW JERSEY LOTTERY SCRATCH OFF TICKET.
WITH A FLICK OF THE WRIST HE BECAME 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS RICHER.
"Just shock, like this is not happening. Like this is not real."
"He couldn't believe it. He wanted a lot of confirmation from us, and just called a lot of family and told everybody the good news."
IN A STATEMENT, THE STATE'S LOTTERY DIRECTOR SAID: "We are very grateful that John has given his time and skills to help the people dealing with the challenges brought on by Sandy and that New Jersey is giving a memorable thank you back to him."
THE JACKPOT. AFTER TAXES. COMES TO ABOUT 70-THOUSAND DOLLARS. WHICH HE HOPES TO INVEST IN HIS BUSINESS, GIVE TO HIS CHURCH, AND
"A portion of it, we're going to donate it to someone or some family that's in need."
"He deserves it. He's a good-hearted man. I couldn't think of anybody better to win it than John."
TURNER, WHO WAS BORN IN NEW JERSEY, SAYS HIS THOUGHTS ARE STILL WITH THOSE STRUGGLING AFTER SANDY.
"It's a saddening situation. It's really really sad. So we hope they get back to normal as quickly as possible."

HEADING SOUTH FOR THE WINTER MAY PRESERVE YOU FROM SNOW AND SLEET -- BUT
IT WON'T NECESSARILY KEEP YOU FROM HAVING A HEART ATTACK.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO A STUDY PRESENTED TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
RESEARCHERS LOOKED AT DEATH CERTIFICATES FROM SEVEN REGIONS ACROSS THE
COUNTRY WHERE THE WINTER MONTHS RANGED FROM WARM TO COLD.
DEATHS IN WINTER WERE 26 TO 36 PER CENT HIGHER THAN IN SUMMER -- INCLUDING
THOSE FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DEATHS.
BUT THE COLD CLIMATES HAD NO MORE DEATHS THAN THE WARM ONES. THE STUDY
CONCLUDES THAT SOMETHING OTHER THAN LOW TEMPERATURES IS BEHIND THE
DIFFERENCE.
IT MIGHT HAVE TO DO WITH GETTING LESS VITAMIN D ON WINTER'S SHORTER DAYS --
OR WITH LESS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
BUT NO MATTER WHAT CLIMATE YOU'RE IN, YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO DIE FROM HEART
PROBLEMS IN THE WINTER.
WITH THIS MEDICAL MINUTE, I'M DOCTOR TIMOTHY JOHNSON.
