GOOD MORNING SOUTHWEST FLORIDA.
TODAY IS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 25TH.
I'M JOE ROETZ.
BEFORE WE GET TO OUR BIG STORIES OF THE DAY,
LETS CHECK IN WITH METEOROLOGIST KIRA MINER WITH OUR STORMWARN 7 FORECAST.
Return to index of stories...
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
A weak front that moved through Southwest Florida yesterday has reinforced the cool and dry airmass that's already in place. This will make for a beautiful ending to our holiday weekend.
Our Sunday will start off clear, crisp, and a bit on the chilly side as a quick shot of cool air settles across the peninsula. Plenty of sunshine will fill our skies through the day, leading to a nice warm up with afternoon highs in the lower half of the 70s. A breeze out of the north and northeast between 5-10 mph will keep the dry air filtering in, which will keep humidity values rather comfortable.
Clear skies tonight will prevail, however temperatures won't be quite as chilly as our warming trend ensues. Overnight, expect thermometer readings to level off in the low to mid 50s here in town with readings in the upper 40s deep inland.
High pressure will dominate our weather pattern early in the week with mostly sunny conditions and rain free skies. Winds will take more of an easterly turn as high pressure moves eastbound in the western Atlantic. This will promote a warming trend with highs in the lower 80s along with a bump up in our humidity.
By midweek, another weather disturbance will roll a cold front in our direction late Tuesday and into Wednesday. As of right now, rain prospects aren't looking too impressive as we may only manage to squeeze out a stray shower.
In the wake of this system, a slightly cooler and refreshing airmass will slide it's way across the sunshine state with lower humidity. Overnight lows look to stay in the 50s with highs in the 70s.
