After a string of several cool days and chilly nights, temperatures will rebound this week as more warmth builds into Southwest Florida.
Temperatures are still starting off on the chilly side this morning with lows dropping back into the low 50s and upper 40s, but with full sunshine in place today, temperatures will be on track to warm into the upper 70s. The average high for this time of year is 80, so we'll be very close to achieving that.
Temperatures across Southwest Florida will climb to around 79 during the afternoon except close to the beaches where the cooler Gulf waters will hold highs in the mid 70s.
Overall, we're in store for a very pleasant Monday. Humidity will stay comfortably low, and our sky will stay predominantly sunny.
One of the keys in our forecast this week will be wind direction. Over the last few days, our winds have been flowing in from the north, but starting today, winds will have a more southerly component. This will help bring more warmth and moisture into Southwest Florida through the week. As a result, we'll notice humidity levels increasing starting Tuesday and more patchy clouds developing during the day.
Rain prospects will continue to stay rather low through the week, but forecast models are hinting at some Atlantic moisture getting carried over with the southeasterly winds later in the week. This may lead to some isolated afternoon showers starting Thursday, but don't get too excited about rain this week.
We're not really expected any significant cool fronts to move in this week, so temperatures will stay pretty flat, meaning we don't anticipate any big swings with our temperatures. Daytime highs will pretty much stay close to 80 and our lows close to 60.
Enjoy the warmer weather!

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.After a string of several cool days and chilly nights, temperatures will rebound this week as more warmth builds into Southwest Florida.
