A WOMAN BATTLING CANCER IS NOW THE VICTIM OF THIEVES.
NOT ONLY DID THEY STEAL HER CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PRESENTS.
THEY ALSO TOOK THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF MEDICATION SHE NEEDS TO STAY ALIVE.
AS ABC-7S MEGHAN SMITH REPORTS. THIS CANCER PATIENT IS ONE OF AT LEAST THREE RECENT BURGLARY VICTIMS IN THE SAN CARLOS PARK AREA.

SANDRA BLACKWELL LOSES SOMETHING THAT COULD MEAN LIFE OR DEATH.
37:08 "stole all of the computers, 80,00" in jewelry, cash, all of my kid's Christmas presents- I'm going to start crying."
BUT WHAT'S WORSE THAN LOSING ALL THAT -
THE LOSS OF THE 46 YEAR-OLD'S MEDICATION, WHICH KEEPS HER CANCER IN REMISSION.
37:38 "I do take a chemo pill regimen on a monthly basis."
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON-
BURGLARS BROKE INTO THE BLACKWELL FAMILY HOME,
ALONG WITH THE HOUSE RIGHT NEXT DOOR-
AND ONE ON THE NEXT STREET OVER.
SANDRA'S SON CAME HOME FROM SCHOOL AND DISCOVERED THE CRIME.
39:08 "it's more of the shock of coming home and everything is flipped upside down."
SANDRA HAS BEEN FIGHTING KIDNEY CANCER FOR OVER 10 YEARS,
AND HAS ONLY BEEN IN REMISSION FOR ABOUT 2 AND A HALF MONTHS.
37:52 "it travelled through the blood and pretty much through my body, so we're trying to keep me in remission right now."
THAT'S WHAT THE STOLEN PILLS DO-
KEEP THE CANCER FROM COMING BACK.
THE LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THE BREAK-INS COULD HAVE BEEN COMMITTED BY THE SAME PEOPLE.
51:24 "we are investigating the possibility that they are related."
BUT FOR SANDRA-
WHO HAS FOUGHT FOR SO LONG-
SHE JUST WANTS THE CULPRITS CAUGHT,
AND HER MEDICATION BACK.

After some sunshine today, the clouds certainly thickened up throughout the afternoon limiting our temperatures to the upper 70s. Through the evening hours, expect mostly cloudy skies to stick around along with the possibility of a stray shower or two as temperatures settle into the lower 70s.
Overnight, the vast majority of us will stay fairly dry under mostly cloudy skies with an isolated shower at best. Lows will settle into the lower 60s here in town, with a few upper 50s deeper inland and across our northern cool spots.
High pressure that has controlled our weather over the last several days continues to break down as a cold front pushes across the deep south. By tomorrow morning, a weak upper level disturbance will make its way across the peninsula and may produce a few widely scattered showers. Rain prospects will remain about 30%, so not everyone will see the rain as most of these will be the hit or miss type.
Once this disturbance exits to the east late Thursday, conditions will begin to dry out a bit for the end of the week with more sunshine and highs remaining in the lower 80s.
Heading into the weekend, we'll keep partly sunny skies in the forecast with the chance of a couple of isolated showers. By early next week, we'll be tracking another cold front moving down the state, which will bring an increase in the cloud cover and perhaps another boost in our rain chances.
Even though our rain prospects will stay slightly higher than normal, our weather pattern will stay fairly consistent with our temperatures staying a few points above the average with partly sunny skies.
