FIRST WEATHER-WXWALL

After a string of dry and sunny days, some minor changes are in the forecast over the next few days.

Through the early part of the day, we'll be watching an upper level disturbance sitting to our northwest in the northern Gulf of Mexico. With this weather system nearby and moving over head today, clouds will be on the increase with the chance for a few widely scattered showers.

Just like yesterday, mostly cloudy skies and a little bit of rain will keep our daytime highs capped in the upper 70s. It certainly won't be a washout by any means, but just be prepared for a few brief hit or miss showers this afternoon.

Tonight, as that disturbance begins to pull away to the east, clouds should begin to thin out with mainly dry weather in place. Overnight lows will settle into the lower 60s with one or two upper 50s on the thermometer across our northern cool spots.

The work week will end with a bit more sunshine and as a result, temperatures will rebound nicely into the lower 80s. Heading into the upcoming weekend, our skies will stay partly sunny with the opportunity to squeeze out a shower or two by Saturday.

Early next week, we'll be tracking another cold front sagging its way down the peninsula. At this time, forecast models are hinting at an increase in the cloud cover across our part of the state with the chance for some spotty showers.

Temperatures through the weekend and into early next week will run a few degrees above normal for this time of year. So even though the calendar says December, our weather is anything but winter like. Return to index of stories...

A THIRD NURSING HOME JUST NORTH OF NAPLES IN BONITA SPRINGS, THE EMERITUS--ALSO CONFIRMED IT HAS SICK EMPLOYEES AND RESIDENTS.

THE TUSCANY VILLA IS ON A CLOSE WATCH FOR WEEKS---MANAGEMENT THERE IS ASKING RESIDENTS TO STAY IN THEIR BEDS---URGING FAMILY TO CUT BACK ON VISITING HOURS.

Nancy O'Brien/11:19 "I did stay away for a couple of days because she asked me to."

Tuscany Villa Resident/8:06 "Everybody's been staying in their rooms."

SENDING SICK EMPLOYEES HOME WAS ALSO RECOMMENDED---AT LEAST UNTIL THESE CENTERS ARE 72 HOURS CLEAN WITHOUT ANY OF THESE FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS.

Deb Millsap/1:19 "We send our infection controlled specials in to take a look at everything from housekeeping providers to food services to nursing."

Rick Ritter 30:19 "While the cause of the sudden outbreaks remains unknown, officials are reminding the public that these situations are common. But that there's no doubt when they're dealing with this type of illness that can effect dozens of people in one building like Tuscany Villa--it's something they need to monitor closely."

Deb Millsap/2:46 "If a facility does not contact us and is not able to get an infection under control, it can spread."

Nancy O'Brien/11:19 "It's been very hard on people but I think Tuscany has been doing what they're instructed to do."
