It was a beautiful day across Southwest Florida with wall to wall sunshine. Even though daytime temperatures managed to climb to 80°, with a nice drop in our humidity this afternoon it felt quite pleasant out there. For the remainder of our Wednesday, look for sunny skies and a dry evening with temperatures settling into the 70s.
Mostly clear skies will prevail tonight and as winds switch to the east and southeast we will see an increase in the moisture overnight. This will set the stage not only for milder overnight lows, but we're also looking at the potential for patchy fog to develop by early tomorrow morning with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Our Thursday will be another dry one under partly sunny skies. With a southerly flow across the peninsula, a more humid airmass will be in place with daytime highs reaching the lower 80s. We will more than likely see an increase in the cloud cover late Thursday and into early Friday with the approach of our second cold front for the week.
This front will bring us a few scattered showers during the early morning hours on Friday, with a more significant push of colder air arriving during the day. Skies will clear from north to south, but despite the afternoon sunshine daytime highs will struggle to reach 70° in many locations. Friday night looks to be the coldest as overnight lows will drop into the lower to middle 40s by Saturday morning. Afternoon highs will remain quite cool as they work their way into the upper 60s with lots of sunshine.
High pressure will have a firm grip on our weather through the upcoming weekend with highs in the low 70s by Sunday with sunny and dry weather through the Christmas holiday.
