Return to index of stories...
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"TRACKING OUR NEXT COLD FRONT"
After a picture perfect Wednesday, we'll start to notice some subtle changes to our forecast for Thursday as we wait for the arrival of a strong cold front on Friday. This front will user in some of the coldest air of the season thus far.
Overnight, skies have stayed clear and winds have taken more of southeasterly turn. With increasing moisture and humidity early this morning, we're looking at the potential for some patchy fog around sunrise, especially across our inland communities.
The rest of our Thursday afternoon will be another dry one with a few more clouds mixing in with our sunshine. With a southerly flow across the peninsula, a more humid airmass will be in place with daytime highs reaching the lower 80s. We will more than likely see an increase in the cloud cover late Thursday and into early Friday with the approach of our second cold front for the week.
This front will bring us a band of a few scattered showers during the early morning hours on Friday, with a more significant push of colder air arriving during the day. Skies will clear from north to south, but despite the afternoon breezy sunshine daytime highs will struggle to reach 70° in many locations. Friday night looks to be the coldest as overnight lows will drop into the lower to middle 40s by Saturday morning. Afternoon highs will remain quite cool as they work their way into the middle to upper 60s with lots of sunshine.
High pressure will have a firm grip on our weather through the upcoming weekend with highs in the low 70s returning by Sunday with sunny and dry weather through the Christmas holiday.

"We will open on friday at 7am, and we will stay open through sunday, late."

MARKETING EXPERT BERNHARD SCHROEDER SAYS THIS MOVE FOR A NON-STOP SHOPPING WEEKEND MAY GIVE MACY'S AN EDGE WITH LAST MINUTE SHOPPERS. AND IS BOUND TO GET THE ATTENTION OF OTHER RETAIL COMPETITORS.
"You're going to see several other brands potentially step forward and match it."
BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU OPEN YOUR STORE ALL NIGHT LONG. WILL SHOPPERS COME AND SPEND THEIR MONEY?
"Um, I just don't shop in the middle of the night."
"No I'll be asleep at that time. I'll let the rest of the people handle that but I'll be asleep."
"If you work nights or something like that, get off work, come by, maybe that's a pretty good idea."
"Now this doesn't just give an advantage of macy's over the other retail stores, by opening up 48 hours just before christmas, it's also a good move to compete against the online stores."
MACY'S HOPES THEY CAN CREATE A SORT OF BLACK FRIDAY BUZZ FOR BARGAIN SHOPPERS AND PROCRASTINATORS. BUT THE QUESTION STILL REMAINS. WHO WILL BE HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

clearly this is fake they have shot some video footage here and used over
the counter software to make a 3d bird and a 3d baby there is a real baby at
the end which allows them to pull off their tricks
JOEL PAYNE'S BEEN A 3D ANIMATOR FOR TWO DECADES WORKING W SPIELBERG AND

They shot this in a very clever way what they did is they shot the video and
they panned the camera as if they were following a bird but the bird want
really there they had to add that in as a 3d element /00:47:28 they also
modeled a digital double of the kid
WE MIGHT GIVE THEM AN "A" BUT THIS EAGLE WASN'T PICTURE PERFECT.

SADLY, THE SANDY HOOK SHOOTING IS JUST THE *LATEST --

HIS BROTHER REPORTEDLY TOLD POLICE, ADAM LANZA HAD MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS.
SO DOES JARED LEE LOUGHNER , WHO KILLED SIX PEOPLE, AND WOUNDED 17 OTHERS, INCLUDING FORMER CONGRESSWOMAN GABBY GIFFORD, IN TUCSON.
THE AUORA, COLORADO THEATER SHOOTER ALSO HAD SEVERE PSYCHIATRIC PROBLEMS.
DOCTOR CLARK SMITH SAYS THOSE PATIENTS TYPICALLY HAVE VERY NORMAL CHILDHOODS.
"And then their first year in college, they become psychotic and lose everything, and some of them become angry."
ANGER THAT CAN TURN DEADLY.
DOCTOR SMITH SAYS VIOLENCE IS MORE LIKELY, IF THEY WERE VICTIMS OF PARENTAL ABUSE OR NEGLECT AT A YOUNG AGE.
"Absent parent, which could be from divorce or death, a parent who's incarcerated, a parent with drug or alcohol problems."
SMITH SAYS THIS KIND OF VIOLENCE CAN FEED ON ITSELF.
"I think there's a copy-cat phenomena to them."
.BECAUSE THE SHOOTERS ARE OFTEN UN-EMPLOYED AND ISOLATED.
"And they're watching TV, they're watching this right now, seeing all the glorification of it, in their minds, because his pictures on TV, and they want that sense of being somebody."
AND DOCTOR SMITH SAYS CUTBACK IN MENTAL HEALTH FUNDING HAVE SHREDDED THE "SAFETY NET" THAT PROTECTS US ALL, WHEN THE THE MENTALLY ILL TURN VIOLENT.
"So you can't neglect the basic infrastructure in our society without paying a price. If you don't take care of the bridges, they're gonna collapse. If you don't take care of the mental health system, you're gonna see people slip through the cracks and we're gonna have more shootings."
