530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WXWALL

Without any cold fronts headed for Southwest Florida anytime soon, our weather will stay unseasonably warm through the next several days.

The last cold front that made an approach on Southwest Florida has been fading and fizzling across Central Florida, and we expect this front to ultimately get washed out and stay north of us.

In the meantime, we stay in a warm and humid air mass. Morning temperatures today only cool to the low to mid 60s, and there's also the potential for some fog to develop through sunrise. Aside from some low clouds and morning fog, our sky should become mostly sunny from mid morning through the afternoon.

Temperatures will be the big story this week. Daytime highs today should easily reach the low to even mid 80s during the heat of the day, and temperatures will stay on track to get even warmer as we go through the week. In fact, there's actually a chance we'll come close to hitting record highs this week, especially on Wednesday and Thursday with our records at 85 and 86, respectively.

Aside from the unseasonably warm temperatures, we'll enjoy lots of sunshine as our sky stays partly cloudy through most of this week. The early mornings could be an exception, as we may have to contend with dense fog close to sunrise.

Rain chances will be pretty scarce this week with the absence of any big rain makers coming our way. Minus a few pop-up showers, our weather looks dry all the way through the upcoming weekend.

Some of the long-range forecast models indicate our next batch of cold air won't arrive until Thursday of next week. If these solutions pans out, this means we'll have warmer than normal with us for the next 8-9 days. Return to index of stories...
