NICE WEEKEND AHEAD
High pressure remains firmly in control of our weather and it looks like we are in for a really nice weekend. The winds will continue from the east/southeast this weekend at 10 - 15 with an occasional higher gust. This should be a nice weekend for boating in our Gulf of Mexico waters with a 2 - 3 foot sea off shore. The water temperature is still in the lower 70's and with plenty of sunshine it will be a nice weekend to hit the beach. Rain showers remain few and far between across Florida and I anticipate more of the same tomorrow. The weather pattern set up for our area is a mainly dry pattern.
Temperatures will drop to the mid and lower 60's again this evening and daytime highs on Saturday and Sunday will be back in the 80's.
The long-range outlook shows a very weak front making it to Florida by next Thursday or Friday. At this point, the computer models are not excited about any significant rain; however, we will probably see an increase in clouds by late next week. In the meantime, the warm days and pleasant night should continue for several more days.

Return to index of stories...
It's the way many women kick back at the end of the day. with a glass or two of wine.
But what if you knew NOW the toll alcohol would take on your appearance LATER? /bWell, there's an app for that.
It's called "Drinking Mirror." Users upload a photo of their face and plug-in their alcohol consumption.
what comes back is not always a pretty picture. The photo generated shows the potential long-term effects of drinking. there's weight gain, deeper wrinkles and red cheeks.
27-year-old Magda Janicki didn't like how she might look in a decade.
The app is part of a campaign by the Scottish government to encourage women to more closely monitor how much they're drinking.
And it comes amid new statistics in this country from the C-D-C, which indicates almost 14-million U-S women, or one out of eight, are binge drinking 3 times a month, consuming an average of 6-alcoholic beverages at a time.
While Lamm says the "Drinking Mirror" can be a valuable tool. these women, enjoying an adult beverage in Fort Lauderdale, weren't sold on it.
The app doesn't address the potential medical effects of alcohol use. such as
diabetes, liver and heart disease. It's purely a play on vanity.

"THE PICTURE IS HORRIBLE, THERE'S NO WAY IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING. NO."

this review will cover the critical systems of the aircraft - design, manuf
and assembly
BOEING'S NEWEST AIRCRAFTTHE DREAMLINER RELIES ON HIGH TECH ELECTRICAL

RAISED THE MOST CONCERNS.
this is a newer type of a battery that hasn't been, basically, looked at in
any terms of faults. it's a very good battery and we're not sure what
happened there.

Scheidt had no education - medical or otherwise - beyond
a diploma from an online High School.
He is not a Physician Assistant.
What he is, is a 17 year old kid with a summer job at a doctor's office
NANCY ALVAREZ
he performed procedures on patients.
Reporter Nancy Alvarez, with Channel 9 in Orlando.
NANCY ALVAREZ
/ this kid touched patients. / This kid held a child who
was getting stitches. He went all the way,
MATT GUTMAN
He actually administered CPR.
SARAH FREEMAN
Yes, he actually administered CPR to one patient.
But apparently unsatisfied, Scheidt demands more privileges.
SARAH FREEMAN
he kept on going back to human resources saying, I need the
access, I need the access. And that's when they called his
medical office and they're, like, he's not even a physician assistant or a
student.
Matthew Scheidt Police Interview Part 1
I appreciate you coming down, I absolutely do.
Scheidts talks his way from the Emergency Room into a police interrogation
room.
Matthew Scheidt Police Interview Part 1
No, no I don't sign off on anything. I just did the circling.
So confident he can talk his way out of anything, Scheidt waives his right
to a lawyer.and begins to tell his tale
Matthew Scheidt Police Interview Part 1
19:18:00 I told them it could be kidney stones could be kidney infection
could be EIT.
SARAH FREEMAN
/ he just was talking, talking, talking, and talking.
Matthew Scheidt Police Interview Part 1
18:42:35 I had an interest and still somewhat have an interest in the

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Return to index of stories...

EVEN THOUGH IT'S ONLY JANUARY EXPERTS SAY YOU SHOULD START THINKING ABOUT YOUR SUMMER VACATION PLANS.
THAT'S BECAUSE BOOKINGS HAVE ALREADY STARTED ESPECIALLY FOR VACATION RENTALS.
RENTING A VACATION HOUSE FOR A WEEK OR TWO CAN BE RISKY.
HERE'S SOME ADVICE.
READ REVIEWS OF THOSE WHO'VE VACATIONED THERE BEFORE. AND MAKE A FEW PHONE CALLS.
ALSO, READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY.WHICH WILL SPELL OUT MORE THAN HOW MUCH YOU PAY.
Return to index of stories...
"The contract will include things like whether or not you need to bring linens or linens are going to be provided at the house"
"Are they going to have dishes in the kitchen stock sio that you can use their dishes or do you bring your own"
BOTH SAY DON'T PAY IN FULL UP FRONT.
YOU SHOULD MAKE THE MINIMUM DEPOSIT AND PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD SO YOU CAN STOP PAYMENT OR DISPUTE THE CHARGE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

WE HAVE VIDEO TONIGHT --
OF AN ATM RIPPED RIGHT OUT OF THE FLOOR.
IT HAPPENED IN SOUTH FLORIDA.
AND THE CRIME SPREE DIDN'T STOP THERE --
ALTHOUGH, AS ALEX DIPRATO REPORTS, IT WASN'T AS SUCCESSFUL THE SECOND TIME AROUND.
Return to index of stories...
It's pretty brazen.
IT'S JUST BEFORE 4:15 A.M. THURSDAY MORNING, WHEN TWO CARS ROLLED UP TO THE KWIK STOP ALONG BUSY 95TH STREET IN NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE.
THE CROOKS PULL BACK THE METAL AWNING AND THEN BREAK THE GLASS WINDOW.
ONE PERSON THEN DUCKED INSIDE AND PLACED A YELLOW STRAP AROUND THE ATM.
THE STRAP WAS THEN ATTACHED TO A CHAIN, WHICH WAS YANKED RIGHT OUT OF THE FLOOR WHEN THE GOLD CAR PARKED OUT FRONT PULLS FORWARD.
THEN WATCH THIS.
THE THIEVES CARRIED THE ATM OUT OF THE STORE AND INTO THE PARKING LOT AND PUT IT INTO A CAR, ALL WHILE TRAFFIC PASSES ON BY.
LEFT BEHIND: TWISTED METAL, BROKEN GLASS. AND IN THAT ATM, THE CLERK SAYS THOUSANDS.
They're claiming about $6,000 dollar were in there.
Yes.
BUT THE CRIME SPREE FOR THESE GREEDY CROOKS IS NOT OVER.
ABOUT 4:40 A.M., NORTH MIAMI POLICE BELIEVE IT IS THE SAME GUYS IN THE SAME CARS WHO PULL UP TO PRESIDENTE SUPERMARKET ON 125TH STREET.
THEY SMASH THE GLASS, THEN THERE'S THE YELLOW STRAP AGAIN, IT GOES OVER THE ATM.
THE CROOKS TRIED TO PULL IT OUT WITH A CHAIN ATTACHED TO A CAR, BUT NO SUCH LUCK THIS TIME.
BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP THIS ONE GUY FROM GETTING A RUNNING START AND SMASHING HIS BODY INTO THE ATM.
IT DOESN'T MOVE THE MACHINE BUT LEAVES HIM WITH A SORE SHOULDER.
In the video you can see him take a running start and slam his shoulder into the ATM, he apparently hurts himself and he walks away, holding his shoulder. This will probably end up on one of those dumbest videos.
