Starting today there's going to be more lee county sheriffs deputies in our elementary schools among to keep our kids safe.

There will be 10 deputies split up among them.

the school resource officers will rotate throughout the schools during the day.

In lee county- there's 50 schools that have elementary age students.

5 of them are speciality k-8 schools.

Those schools already have their own school resource officer, As does every other lee county middle and high school.

The sanibel school is not included in this plan, But the sanibel police department will monitor students for safety.

Charter schools are also excluded.

The school district tells me it's that administrations responsibility to take care of school security.

Exactly how the new security plan works is not being released to the public, But we're told all the schools will get equal time from the 10 officers since violence could happen anywhere.

A search for a grizzly in golden gate estates is still on-- after a two year old bear named boo boo bolted from his home on the 4thousand block of 43rd avenue ne yesterday. The cub was being held in captivity with his brother yogi and an adult grizzly named tonk-- as part of an educational show called 'a grizzly experience.' Their owner did have the proper permits and fencing-- but somehow boo boo got out. Teams have been searching for nearly 30 hours-- and so far the only sign of him are some footprints from last night.

Today biologists set traps and food out in hopes of attracting the hungry bear.

Skies should cloud-up after lunchtime and some showers will cross the area around 2:00 p.m. The rain showers forecast should not last all afternoon and move through quickly. I expect that most places will receive less than ¼ inch of rain tomorrow. The winds will increase by late day and southwest Florida boaters should be aware that the weather tomorrow morning will be nice, but turn windy and rough by the end of the day. Our highs in the 70's will quickly drop back to the 60's by sunset and we are going down to 50 degrees by Friday morning.

SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND PRESIDENT OBAMA'S INAUGURATION CEREMONY IN WASHINGTON D-C ON MONDAY.

ONE MAN IS TRAVELING THERE BY FOOT.

GARY ALLEN IS DIGGING DEEP TO FIND THE EXPLORER INSIDE OF HIM. THE 54 YEAR OLD MAINE MAN IS ON A 700 MILE TREK, FROM MAINE TO WASHINGTON DC. HE STARTED MONDAY ON THE TOP OF CADILLAC MOUNTAIN. SINCE THEN, HE HAS LOGGED NEARLY 50 MILES A DAY.

"I stared out as some guy running down the road and now as I come into town people are honking horns. I got a police escort into Bath, goose bumps and tears to my eyes."

IT DOES HELP THAT ALLEN KNOWS HIS WAY AROUND A MARATHON. HE'S RUN 86 OF THEM, 20 IN BOSTON. IN FACT, HE RUNS BOSTON TWICE A YEAR. ONCE ON RACE DAY, AND ONCE BY HIMSELF ON NEW YEAR'S DAY. THIS RUN IS NEW, AND AS MUCH FOR OTHERS AS HIMSELF. HE'S RAISING MONEY FOR THREE ORGANIZATIONS. THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT, THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY AND THE STUDENTS OF SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. HIS ROUTE TAKES HIM THROUGH NEWTOWN.

MOSTLY, HE TRAVELS ALONE.BUT HE'S BEEN HAPPILY SURPRISED WHEN OTHERS HAVE HEARD OF HIS RUN AND JOIN HIM ALONG THE ROUTE. ON THIS MORNING, TWO RUNNERS FIND HIM AS HE HEADS INTO WELLS.

A FRIEND WHO WAS HEADED SOUTH, IN A CAR, WAS HAPPY TO FIND GARY ALONG ROUTE 1.

"you see every location he's at, how many miles he's gone each day.he makes us all feel worse about ourselves."

IT'S LIKELY GARY ALLEN IS THE ONLY PERSON RUNNING ACROSS THE NORTHEAST TO MAKE IT TO THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION. HE'S HOPING HIS BODY CAN HOLD OUT LONG ENOUGH TO GET HIM THERE ON JANUARY 21ST. HE'S NOT A VIP, HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A TICKET. HE JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A BIG WAY TO END AN EPIC RUN.
