"10:17 it would be a miracle."
A miracle for a family of three to survive after being stuck underwater for more than 30 minutes.
This is video of the scene on alligator alley near mile marker 87--
Fhp says 33 year old cecilia douglas of immokalee was driving northbound on i75 when her car hit the back of a box truck at around 830 this morning. she lost control and crashed through the fence. the car flipped and was submerged upside down in this canal.
Douglas' two kids-- 3 year old rylee and 4 year old madison were in the back.
The first troopers and deputies on scene jumped into the water but weren't able to get the family out.

They had to wait for golden gate dive teams to arrive. The girls were stuck inside the car for at least 30 minutes before they were pulled out.

Rylee is in critical condition an nch north collier--
madison was airlifted to a tampa hospital in serious condition.

that's thanks to a broken sewer pipe under homestead road, at the intersection of leeland heights.
48:16 it's in the middle of the road but we are taking steps to do what we can to minimize any inconvience for drivers.*
about 10 this morning, a worker with the florida governmental utility authority found a small hole in the road.
water was coming out of it,
so crews began digging.
that's when they discovered a a 12 inch sewer line had burst.
now comes the painstaking process of getting the old pipe out- and the new one in.
