"Warm today, with a few Friday showers"
After a chilly start to the work week, temperatures have been on the climb over the last couple of days. We'll continue to keep a warmer than normal pattern through the end of the week before a slight cool down arrives just in time for the weekend.
Our day will start on the cooler side with temperatures in the lower to middle 60s with a few readings in the middle and upper 50s across our northern and inland communities. While many of us
wake up to mostly sunny conditions, we may see a couple of patches of fog which should lift shortly after sunrise. Plan on another dry and partly sunny day across the area with mainly dry conditions. A southeasterly breeze will continue to keep our afternoons a bit warmer with highs in the lower 80s, while the coastal areas remain cooler due to a nice gulf breeze.
Tonight, temperatures won't be quite as cool as they settle into the middle 60s with increasing clouds.
A storm system moving out of Texas will move across the northern gulf states, eventually sending a weak cool front our way. This front will approach the area on Friday morning with an increase in cloud cover and the threat for just a few isolated showers. Once the front clears the peninsula during the day, skies will clear and this will set the stage for a pleasant weekend across Southwest Florida.
