THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE ABC7 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
A wide variety of weather is expected this week across Southwest Florida, and it looks like we'll even have some rain in the forecast later this week as a cool front stalls right over us for two or three days.
But first thing's first; before we get to some unsettled weather for the second half of our week, it looks like we're on track to see a continuation of our warm and sunny weather that we saw over the weekend.
In fact, our weather will change very little today. We'll start with mainly clear skies and temperatures in the low 60s before sunshine takes over and sends our daytime highs back in the low to mid 80s. Humidity will be slightly higher today as our winds becoming more southerly, and the breeze will stay rather stiff at times as well with gusts getting up to 15-20 mph.
The warm sunshine and dry weather will stay with us through Wednesday, but by late Wednesday, we'll be tracking some showers and perhaps a few storms edging their way toward Southwest Florida from the northwest.
It actually looks like the incoming clouds and rain will be here for an extended visit as its parent cool front slows and stalls right over South Florida, which means Thursday and Friday will likely features periods of rain along with mostly cloudy skies.
Once the front is able to push all the way through by the upcoming weekend, our long-range forecast models are hinting at a pretty substantial cool down coming our way. We'll still need to tinker with the numbers a bit as we go through the next several days, but early indications point to this next cool spell possibly being the coldest so far this season.
Keep checking back with nbc-2.com and NBC 2 TV for the latest forecasts. You can also get weather updates for Southwest Florida on your facebook news feed by "liking" my page!
