WINTRY FEEL THIS WEEKEND
It hasn't felt much like February, but that is going to quickly change. Cold air sits to our north and it is going to funnel into Southwest Florida in the next 48 hours.
The overcast skies are currently keeping our temperatures in check, but those clouds are going to gradually erode away as our winds shift to the north. That northerly wind will drive in the cold air.
So Saturday will start off mostly cloudy. However the sunshine will start to breakout as we go from the morning to the afternoon as our winds do indeed shift to the north. Rain prospects are low, but there is a definite chance of seeing an isolated shower. The cooler air won't come in on Saturday. Our lows will be near 60 and highs will be in the lower 70s.
Sunday - different story.
On Sunday we're going to see clear skies and wake up to temperatures around 40 in the urban corridor. Deeper inland temperatures could drop as low as 31. Despite 100% sunshine our highs on Sunday will only get to 64.
Monday morning lows will be just as cold. Interior communities will see temperatures near freezing while the urban corridor drops to 40 degrees. It'll be mostly sunny to start the week and our highs will get up to 74.
Tuesday through Friday will be partly cloudy and warmer. Lows will be getting to the 60 degree mark and highs in the lower 80s. I'm not forecasting a drop of rain for next week!
Enjoy.

live intro - ship behind me, investigation, clean up process.
This giant sewer on the sea is finally docked; but its owners have some
serious explaining to do.
Traumatized passengers say they've heard stories about previous problems on
the Triumph and they want answers ---
Like why was the ship deemed seaworthy?
Mark Mazan/Dallas: It was incompetence to a level I've never seen.
And Why did carnival wait roughly 10 hours to call for help?
Randall Raison: They discharged no boats to us, no rescue. Nothing to us.
And then they sent this little bathtub toy to pull a 102,000 ton ship.
After a 7 hour bus trip to galveston texas, the horrors of the last 8 days
were still fresh.
"It was disgusting."
"No power, no toilets. At time no water. We were just living in filth."
now some fuming customers say the compensation being offered is an insult.
13:20:49 I KNOW WHAT I WENT THROUGH OUT HERE, AND $500 DOESN'T TOUCH THAT,
OR A FREE CRUISE, OR A DISCOUNTED CRUISE, AN ADDITIONAL CRUISE. THERE IS NO
MONEY THAT CAN REPAY ME FOR THE HORROR AND THE SCAREDNESS THAT I HAVE BEEN
THROUGH IN THE PAST FIVE DAYS.
Others are considering taking legal action.
Linize standup close
Lawyers are already saying carnival should brace itself for a wave of
lawsuits - we spoke to one lawyer who said it will depend on what's in the
paperwork that passengers signed before boarding - like a ban on class
action suits. Passengers who were forced to use bags like these as a toilet
for days, are not going to give up until they get answers. Linzie Janis ABC

A blinding flash of light, streaking across the sky and then
The shockwave of a meteor splintering into pieces the blast shattering
windows throughout the city even knocking down a wall at this zinc factory.
Witnesses thought they were under attack.
SOT FROM GMA SPOT: "They're bombing!" this man says.
On the streets: chaos.
Officials say nearly a thousand people were injured, most by broken glass.
NASA scientists say this was the biggest meteor in a century, over 7,700
tons much of it burned up in the Earth's atmosphere, but fragments slammed
into the ground. The biggest chunk smashed right into this frozen lake.
What NASA says it was not, was part of this asteroid, called DA 14, which
buzzed dangerously close to Earth today. That giant rock is not expected to
make impact.
An estimated 100 tons of space material enters the atmosphere every day but
most of it falls harmlessly in unpopulated areas.
GFX The National Safety Council estimates you're nearly twice as likely to
be struck by lightning than hit by an asteroid but it's still three times
more likely than being injured by fireworks.
20 thousand troops have been sent to help terrified residents they're
spending a cold night without any windows temperatures in that part of
Russia are well below zero tonight.

BECAUSE SHE GOT A C-PLUS AND NOT THE "B" SHE NEEDED.
SHE CLAIMED THE GRADE WAS REVENGE BECAUSE SHE SUPPORTS GAY MARRIAGE AND HER PROFESSOR DID NOT.
SHE SAYS THE LOWER GRADE KEPT HER FROM BECOMING A LICENSED THERAPIST.

SHE WARNS ABOUT THE DANGERS OF HIDDEN SALT
.IN FOODS LIKE CHEESE.SOUPS.AND MEATS.
CAUSING ALL SORTS OF SIDE EFFECTS FROM BLOATING TO SWELLING.TO EVEN HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE..
it raises your blood pressure and that puts a lot of pressure on your heart eventually
SO NOW.THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION IS OUT WITH A NEW 3-WEEK PLAN TO CUT THE SODIUM OUT OF YOUR DIET.
IN WEEK ONE.YOU'RE ENCOURAGED TO
LOOK FOR LOWER SODIUM FOODS
TRACK YOUR SODIUM CONSUMPTION

USE FRESH POULTRY RATHER THAN FRIED.CANNED.OR PROCESSED.
ALSO.IF YOU ARE A PIZZA EATER.MAKE IT ONE WITH LESS CHEESE AND MEATS.
AND MORE FOR PIZZA LOVERS.ADD MORE VEGGIES
FINALLY.IN WEEK THREE.
CHECK LABELS EXTRA CLOSELY.
TRY LOWER SODIUM VARIETIES OF YOUR FAVORITE FOODS.
AND MAKE SURE YOU'RE USING LOWER SODIUM MEATS.CHEESES.AND CONDIMENTS.
if you say do this in week 1, do this in week 2, and do this in week 3, you tend to get better results that way

Enjoy.

Return to index of stories...
Minneapolis South High School will be in session Friday, the day after police used chemical spray to break up a brawl involving hundreds of students.
Rachel Hicks says the school will be implementing a "safety plan to ensure a safe environment for learning." This comes after a food fight in the school's lunch area escalated into a physical fight involving dozens of students.
Minneapolis Police Sgt. William Palmer says two school liason officers and more than twenty staff members tried to break up the fight, but it was more than they could handle.
Dozens of police officers were called in to help. When they arrived, Palmer says they sprayed mace into the air to disperse the crowd. Palmer says mace was not directly sprayed at any students.
The spokesperson for the Hennepin County EMS says five people, including three students and two staff members, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One staff member was reportedly hit in the head with an object thrown by a student. Fifteen more people were evaluated at the scene by paramedics.
Students described Thursday's chaotic scene.
"It was a stampede, people running away from the fight, people running towards it," said Khalali Johnson, a junior at the school.
