530AM~STORMWARN FORECAST-WXWALL

"Chilly morning, mild afternoon"

The cold that front that brought yesterday's clouds and light rain is long gone. As a result we're in store for a couple of chilly mornings and mild afternoons with comfortable humidity levels.

Temperatures will start off in the mid 40s in town, while some of our colder inland spots will hold in the upper 30s. Lots of sun will fill our skies throughout the morning hours, and this should help to melt away the chill in the air. Despite wall to wall sunshine this afternoon, daytime highs will continue to run 8-10° below the average as they climb into the upper 60s to lower 70s. Also, with a breeze out of the northwest for much of the day around 10-15 mph, this will make it feel a touch cooler outside.

Tonight, skies will stay clear and winds will begin to lighten as cool high pressure continues to dry our atmosphere out. This will set the stage for another chilly night, although temperatures won't be quite as cold. Most locations will bottom out in the upper 40s with a few readings in the lower to middle 40s east of I-75.

Our warming trend will commence on Friday afternoon with highs peaking in the middle 70s. Each and every day will add a few degrees to the overnight lows and afternoon highs. In fact, by Saturday we'll be back in the 70s with lower 80s in the forecast by Sunday under partly sunny skies.

As winds begin to shift to the east and southeast, afternoon temperatures will warm into the middle 80s by the first of the week with a mainly dry pattern across our part of the state. By Tuesday, we'll be tracking another weak front sliding down the state with a few showers late in the day. Return to index of stories...

FINAL WEATHER
