FIRST WEATHER-WX CTR

It was a beautiful end to our Saturday, as sunshine warmed most of Southwest Florida into the lower half of the 70s. Temperatures will continue to warm through Tuesday, before we track our next cold front, which could bring another winter chill to the area by the middle of next week.

Our day will get off to a cool start with temperatures in the middle 50s, with a few upper 40s north of the river and across our inland communities. We'll see a few patchy clouds this morning, as a very weak boundary tries to work its way in from the north and west with even a sprinkle or two across northern Charlotte county. This will keep a good mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon as daytime highs warm into the middle 70s. As winds come in off the cooler waters of the gulf, temperatures at our beach and coastal locations will hold near 70°.

Tonight, expect a few clouds overhead with overnight lows in the upper 50s along our urban areas. A couple of readings in the middle 50s are still possible for cooler spots mainly east of I-75. With light winds and more moisture, patchy fog will also be possible for that early morning commute on Monday.

Our weather pattern will stay rather dry over the next few days under partly sunny skies. Afternoon highs will climb close to 80° by Monday, with increasing clouds by Tuesday. This warm up is ahead of another weather system that will not only bring the chance for rain on Wednesday, but also the potential for another chilly airmass to make its way down the peninsula for the second half of the week. There's still a bit of uncertainty on just how cold temperatures will get, and we'll continue to fine tune the forecast as more model data comes in. Return to index of stories...

MAIN WEATHER-WX WALL

BANNING BIEBER-PKG

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--

HERE IN SOUTH FLORIDA 101.5 LIGHT FM HAS TAKEN A STAND AND GIVEN BIEBER SILENT TREATMENT.

WE made a group decision: We're not playing any Justin Bieber music, on any of our three stations. We basically blocked him out. No Bieber music.

AND THEY'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES MAKING THE MOVE.

We're no better than the parents supplying prescription drugs or being there when he's drinking booze if we're playing his music and enabling him.

MICHAEL CASTNER, A DEEJAY FOR COURTLAND Z 100, SAYS THEIR BANNING BIEBER UNTIL HE GETS SOME HELP.

What are we doing? What responsibility do we have?

YESTERDAY BIEBER WAS OF ARRESTED IN MIAMI BEACH AFTER ADMITTING TO DRINKING, USING PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND SMOKING MARIJUANA, PROMPTING ACTION FROM THE STATION AND ANOTHER ONE IN CANADA.

THE STATION HOT 89.9 IN OTTAWA IS BANNING BIEBER, TOO.

AND HAS EVEN STARTED A CAMPAIGN ON THE FACEBOOK PAGE.

IN A STATEMENT THE STATION WRITES IN PART, "WELL, HOTTIES. DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES! STARTING NOW WE ARE BANNING ALL OF JUSTIN BIEBER ALBERTA MUSIC. THE BAN WILL NOT BE LISTED UNTIL HE GETS THE HELP THAT HE CLEARLY NEEDS."

THE STATION IS EVEN USING THE HASHTAG "HOT BANS BIEBER." Return to index of stories...
