"Showers today, followed by a cool down"

After a warm Tuesday with highs in the lower 80s, we'll be tracking a few changes over the next couple of days as a weather system moves across the Florida peninsula. This will increase our rain prospects through Thursday, along with a brief cool down.

Our morning will get off to a mild start with temperatures in the lower to middle 60s. We'll also be tracking areas of patchy fog, especially along the coast where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 8am. The clouds will increase through the late morning and early afternoon hours, with a few passing showers from time to time. As a cold front passes to our south today, our winds will shift out of the north allowing cooler air to filter down the state. Daytime highs will be significantly cooler as they top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Tonight, cloudy to overcast skies will give way to scattered showers across the area. Overnight lows will also be about 15° cooler as they dip into the upper 40s to lower 50s by early Thursday morning.

The clouds will stay pretty thick through Thursday afternoon, even after the rain fades away. A northerly breeze will keep temperatures in the middle 60s north of the Caloosahatchee, with upper 60s to the south.

High pressure will build in for the latter half of the week with a dry and partly sunny pattern. This cool down will be very brief in nature, as winds take a turn to the east and southeast with highs in the lower to middle 80s for the weekend. Return to index of stories...
