FIRST WEATHER-WX WALL

"Showers today, followed by a cool down"

After a warm Tuesday with highs in the lower 80s, we'll be tracking a few changes over the next couple of days as a weather system moves across the Florida peninsula. This will increase our rain prospects through Thursday, along with a brief cool down.

Mainly cloudy skies will remain overhead during the late morning and early afternoon hours, with a few passing showers from time to time. Now that the cold front has swept through the area, our winds have shifted to the north with gusts around 20mph. This chilly breeze will allow cooler air to filter down the state beginning this afternoon. Daytime highs will be significantly cooler as they top out in the upper 60s.

Tonight, cloudy to overcast skies will give way to scattered showers across the area. Overnight lows will also be about 15° cooler as they dip into the upper 40s to lower 50s by early Thursday morning.

The clouds will stay pretty thick through Thursday afternoon, even after the rain fades away. A northerly breeze will keep temperatures in the middle 60s north of the Caloosahatchee, with upper 60s to the south. Clouds look to linger through the first half of our Friday, but as high pressure builds in more sunshine should break out during the afternoon hours. This pattern will stay in place through the upcoming weekend with mainly dry weather under partly sunny skies. Winds will begin to take more of an east and southeasterly turn sending our daytime highs into the lower to middle 80s. Return to index of stories...

Last year Go Daddy grossed us out a little with a geeky guy locking lips

with Bar Rafaeli This year, they say, they've actually kicked it up a notch.

SOT: Blake Irving. CEO, Go Daddy.

It's quite provocative. It's never been done before on TV.

And here's the teaser

UPSOUND

Let's talk about dreams and the people who choose to pursue them Like

BLEEEEP She's a real person, with a real dream of starting her very own

business. And she's got a message for her boss in front of a hundred million

people

A real person will quit her job on TV, and set up her own business with Go

Daddy's help. They do web hosting and small business support.

SOT: Blake Irving. CEO, Go Daddy.

Her boss, who we suspect will be watching the game, has no clue that this is

happening.

SOT: Lisa Granatstein. Managing Editor, AdWeek

So last year's Go Daddy ad was super raunchy, it was gross out. This year I

think what's going to be really compelling about this video, let's face it

we all want to stick it to our boss and here is the dream come true.

Remember that lady who recorded an "I Quit: video for her boss at 430am in

the office. Got 17 million views. This will be a bit like that.

And how did Go Daddy find their brave quitter

SOT: Blake Irving. CEO, Go Daddy We just kinda went through our customer

profiles to find folks that we thought were about ready to take that step.

VIDEO: The teaser again

They wouldn't tell me anything about who she is Not even a hint. Guess I'll

have to watch Sunday. And I guess that's the point. Clever.

CHILLY WEATHER SETTLES IN

The weather will be chilly, cloudy and a little wet for the next few days. A cold front has moved into southwest Florida and will keep the overcast skies in place through tomorrow. Temperatures only reached the 60's today and our lows tonight will drop to the lower 50's. Our inland communities will drop to the chilly 40's tomorrow morning.

You can also expect to see some rain showers this evening. It looks like some areas could see.50" of rain tonight, whereas the southern parts of our area are looking to be on the lighter side of that projection. Either way. all of southwest Florida is fair game for rain showers this evening.

Tomorrow will be another cloudy, cool day. Temperatures will only get into the 60's on Thursday afternoon. Rain showers will also pop up on our Live Doppler Radar during the morning and afternoon.

Looks like the clouds may take a while to break up and a mostly cloudy day is forecast for Friday. Temperatures will start to warm up a bit by the end of the week and the weekend outlook still calls for 80 degree weather to return. Return to index of stories...

THEIR CHILD'S WEIGHT AND LIFESTYLE.

RESEARCHERS AT EMORY UNIVERSITY STUDIED CHILDREN OVER A NINE YEAR PERIOD,

TAKING NOTE OF THEIR WEIGHT CHANGES ALONG THE WAY. THEY FOUND THAT

KINDERGARTEN MAY BE THAT CRUCIAL YEAR WHERE OVERWEIGHT KIDS TEND TO MAKE THE

TRANSITION INTO LONGTERM OBESITY.

IN FACT, NEARLY A THIRD OF CHILDREN IN THIS STUDY WHO WERE OVERWEIGHT WHEN

STARTING KINDERGARTEN WERE OBESE BY THE TIME THEY HIT THE EIGHTH GRADE.

FOR PARENTS, THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR, IF A LITTLE STARTLING - DON'T LAUGH OFF "

BABY FAT" WHEN SCHOOL BEGINS. TAKING STEPS AGAINST OBESITY EVEN WHEN YOUR

CHILD IS YOUNG MAY MEAN A BETTER CHANCE AT A HEALTHY WEIGHT LATER. FOCUS ON
